This standard defines procedures for transferring power to non-powered IoT devices using the existing ISM band communication infrastructure and RF WPT and a protocol for a two-way, long-distance wireless network in which IoT devices and APs communicate using backscatter modulation of ISM-band signals. Three components are required for two-way, long-distance wireless communication using backscatter modulation of ISM-band signals: an STA that transmits wireless power and data packets to SSNs by forming ISM-band signal channels between HIE-APs, a batteryless SSN that changes the sensitivity of the channel signals received from the STA using backscatter modulation, and an HIE-AP that practically decodes the channel signals whose sensitivity was changed by the SSN. In this standard, the procedures for CW-type RF WPT using communication among these three components are specified based on application of the CSI or RSSI detection method of ISM-band communication. This standard proposes a convergence communication protocol than can deploy sensors, which can operate at low power (dozens of microwatts or less) without batteries, collect energy, and perform communication, to transmit power to SSNs using RF WPT based on parasitic communication. This method can be applied to application service areas such as domestic IoT, the micro-sensor industry, and industries related to environmental monitoring in the future

IEC 62680-1-8:2019 is to describe in detail all the Terminal Types that are supported by the Audio Device Class. This document is considered an integral part of the Audio Device Class Specification, although subsequent revisions of this document are independent of the revision evolution of the main Audio Device Class Specification. This is to easily accommodate the addition of new Terminal Types without impeding the core Audio Device Class Specification. The Audio Device Class Definition applies to all devices or functions embedded in composite devices. All audio signals inside an audio function start at an Input Terminal, pass through some Units, and leave the function through an Output Terminal. Units can manipulate the signal in various ways. Terminals represent the connections of the function to the outside world. As part of the Terminal descriptor, the wTerminalType field specifies the vendor’s suggested use of the Terminal. For example, a pair of speakers is a more suitable target for music output than a telephone line. This feature allows a vendor to ensure that applications use the device in a consistent and meaningful way.

IEC 60268-21:2018 specifies an acoustical measurement method that applies to electro-acoustical transducers and passive and active sound systems, such as loudspeakers, TV-sets, multi-media devices, personal portable audio devices, automotive sound systems and professional equipment. The device under test (DUT) can be comprised of electrical components performing analogue and digital signal processing prior to the passive actuators performing a transduction of the electrical input into an acoustical output signal. This document describes only physical measurements that assess the transfer behaviour of the DUT between an arbitrary analogue or digital input signal and the acoustical output at any point in the near and far field of the system. This includes operating the DUT in both the small and large signal domains. The influence of the acoustical boundary conditions of the target application (e.g. car interior) can also be considered in the physical evaluation of the sound system. This document does not assess the perception and cognitive evaluation of the reproduced sound and the impact of perceived sound quality.

This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) electric tolerance is standardized; b) recommended value of output source impedance is adjusted; c) value of 6 Ohms is additionally recommended to impedance-defined loudspeaker systems; d) values in each table are chosen with respect to the state of the art and representative of best practice in industry.

IEC 62731:2018(E) specifies the text-to-speech functionality for a (broadcast) receiver with a text-to-speech system. Such a system may be one device, i.e. a receiver with an integrated text-to-speech generator, or may be two devices, i.e. a receiver interfacing with an external text-to-speech device. This document applies only to completely functional stationary (or semi-stationary) digital TV receivers such as set top boxes, integrated digital TVs, recorders and other products whose primary function is to receive TV content. Where this document refers to TV, this will be shorthand for all such receivers. This document does not apply to products that are capable of receiving TV as a secondary function (e.g. PCs or game consoles with digital television receivers). It also does not apply to sub-assemblies (e.g. PC tuner cards). This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) in 6.2, the levels of announcement quality were revised as well as considerations for ways in which device users can provide service providers with feedback on incorrectly announced terms. b) in 6.3, the following TV functionality was added: the TV can receive updated words, associated conversions and updated conversion rules for the TTS engine via a network connection.

This part of IEC 62087 specifies the determination of the power consumption of computer monitors including, but is not limited to, those with CRT, LCD, PDP or OLED technologies. Computer monitors that include touch screen functionality are included in the scope of this document. This document is limited to computer monitors that are powered from a main power source other than a battery. Computer monitors that are powered from a battery source are not covered by this document. However mains-powered computer monitors may include any number of auxiliary batteries. Computer monitors connected by digital inputs such as DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI, or by analogue VGA input, are considered in this document. This document does not apply to network- and wirelessly connected computer monitors. A computer monitor is a display device that does not include a TV tuner and is intended to be used to display the video signals from a computer. These video signals are produced from software programs that are operating within the computer and can consist of static and moving images. As such, test procedures using static patterns, dynamic video and web-based video are specified. The test methods specified in this document can be applied to computer monitors of any size, however, this document is not applicable to specialized monitors associated with medical equipment, publishing and other professional, commercial or industrial uses. The various modes of operation that are relevant for measuring power consumption are also defined. The measuring conditions in this document represent the normal use of the equipment and can differ from specific conditions, for example as specified in safety standards.

IEC 60268-16:2020 defines the STI model, test signals, measurement and prediction methods. The objective of this document is to provide a comprehensive manual for all types of users of the STI model in the fields of audio, communications and acoustics. This document does not provide STI criteria for certification of transmission channels (e.g. criteria for a voice-alarm system), but some typical application values are provided in Annex G. Every measurement method has limitations, and the reader is referred to clauses relating to limitations such as speech privacy, echo and systems using digital voice compression (vocoders). This document does not cover the case of fluctuating noise on the STI, although some general comments on dealing with this complex issue are provided in 7.13 and 8.9.3. IEC 60268-16:2020 cancels and replaces the fourth edition published in 2011. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) the spectrum of the male speech test signal has been changed, with significant reductions in the 125 Hz and 250 Hz bands being implemented; b) some corrections to formulae have been made; c) additional information has been included on prediction and measurement procedures; d) spectrum and weighting factors for female speech have been removed; e) verification information for STI measurement devices added; f) the relationships between STI and number of other speech intelligibility measures have been updated in Annex E; g) greater information is given in Annex M about adjustments to the measured STI results to simulate effects of alternative ambient noise and speech levels.

IEC 60268-22:2020 applies to transducers converting an electrical input signal into a mechanical or acoustical output signal. However, if the electrical input terminals and the surface of the radiator are accessible, this document can also apply to passive and active sound systems such as loudspeakers, headphones, TV-sets, multi-media devices, personal portable audio devices, automotive sound systems and professional equipment. This document describes only electrical and mechanical measurements that help assess the transfer behaviour of the device under test (DUT). This includes operating the DUT in both the small- and large-signal domains. The influence of the target application's acoustical boundary conditions (e.g. car interior) can also be considered in the physical evaluation of the sound system. Perception and cognitive evaluations of the reproduced sound and the impact of perceived sound quality are outside the scope of this document.

IEC 63034:2020 specifies the characteristics of microspeakers as well as the relevant test methods on microspeakers using steady-state sinusoidal signals, sinusoidal chirp, multi-tone or noise. The main characteristics include, but are not limited to, impedance, displacement, amplitude frequency response, distortion, and power handling.
