General Information
IEC 61169-69:2024, which is a sectional specification (SS), provides information and rules for the preparation of detail specifications (DS) for RF coaxial connectors with push-on coupling, typically for use in 50 Ω RF cables or micro-strips in microwave, telecommunication, wireless systems, and other fields (SMP3). It specifies mating face dimensions for general purpose connectors – grade 2, dimensional details of standard test connectors-grade 0, gauging information and tests selected from IEC 61169-1, applicable to all detail specifications relating to series SMP3 RF connectors. This specification indicates recommended performance characteristics to be considered when writing a detail specification and it covers test schedules and inspection requirements for assessment levels M and H. The SMP3 push-on coupling structure series RF coaxial connectors with the characteristic of normative impedance 50 Ω are used with various kinds of RF cables or micro-strips in microwave, telecommunication, wireless systems, and other fields. The operating frequency limit is up to 65 GHz. NOTE Imperial dimensions are the original dimensions since this is a very miniature RF connector. There is a concern that conversion to the metric system could lead to rounding errors which can lead to performance degradation from the original imperial design. The SMPM connector was released as an imperial design for this reason. All undimensioned pictorial information is for reference only.

This standard describes the measurement of screening attenuation by the reverberation chamber measurement method, also called mode stirred chamber method. This standard is applicable to screening attenuation measurements of cable assemblies, cables, connectors, and passive microwave components, such as waveguides, phase shifters, diplexers/multiplexers, power dividers/combiners and etc. Modern electronic equipments have shown a demand for methods for testing screening attenuation performance of microwave components over their whole frequency range. Convenient measurement methods have existed for lower frequencies and components of regular shape. These measurement methods are described in IEC 62153 series standards. For much higher frequencies and for components of irregular shape, the reverberation chamber method should be used. Theoretically, the reverberation chamber method has no upper limit of the measurement frequency, but it is limited by the quality and sensitivity of the measurement system, and the lower limit of the measurement frequency is restricted by the size of the reverberation chamber.

IEC 61169-59:2017, which is a sectional specification (SS), provides information and rules for the preparation of detail specifications (DS) for type L32-4 and L32-5 threaded multi-pin radio frequency connectors with anti mismating mechanism, 50 Ω nominal impedance. The operating frequency of each channel is up to 4 GHz. These connectors have been widely used in mobile communication system like TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE, and can also be used in some similar equipment. It also prescribes mating face dimensions for general connectors-grade 2, gauging information and tests selected from IEC 61169-1, applicable to all detail specifications relating to type L32-4 and L32-5 multi-pin connectors. This sectional specification provides information and rules for the preparation of detail specifications for type L32-4 and L32-5 multi-pin connectors together with the pro forma blank detail specification. This specification indicates the recommended performance characteristics to be considered when writing a detail specification and it covers test schedules and inspection requirements for assessment levels M and H.

IEC 61169-11:2017(E), which is a sectional specification (SS), provides information and rules for the preparation of detail specifications (DS) for RF coaxial connectors with threaded coupling, typically for use in 50 Ohms cable networks (type 4,1-9,5). This document prescribes mating face dimensions for general purpose connectors – grade 2, dimensional details of standard test connectors-grade 0, gauging information and tests selected from IEC 61169-1, applicable to all detail specifications relating to series 4,1-9,5 RF connectors. This specification indicates recommended performance characteristics to be considered when writing a detail specification and it covers test schedules and inspection requirements for assessment levels M and H. The 4,1-9,5 types RF coaxial connectors with nominal impedance 50 Ohms are threaded coupling units which are used with all kinds of RF cables and microstrips in microwave transmission systems. And the working frequency is up to 14 GHz.

IEC 60154-2:2016 specifies the dimensions of flanges for ordinary rectangular waveguide for use in electronic equipment. It covers requirements for flanges drilled before or after mounting on waveguides. It should be noted that for optimum electrical performance, post-drilling of the alignment holes after mounting is recommended. The aim of this standard is to specify for waveguide flanges the mechanical requirements necessary to ensure compatibility and, as far as practicable, interchangeability as well as to ensure adequate electrical performance. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) revise the estimation for return loss at connection interface of waveguides; b) add two type of waveguide flange for high frequency application, i.e. over 50 GHz; c) expand the operation frequency range up to 3,3 THz; d) rename the frequency band over R 1200, i.e. R1,2k.

IEC 61169-58:2016, which is a sectional specification (SS), provides information and rules for the preparation of detail specifications (DS) for SBMA series coaxial connectors with blind-mate coupling. The connectors are used with cables with characteristic impedance 50 Ω in an operating frequency range up to 28 GHz. The connectors are widely used in communications, antennas, radars and other applications for modules interconnections. It is also normally used in conjunction with appropriate transmission line. It describes the interface dimensions for general purpose connectors with gauging information and the mandatory tests selected from IEC 61169-1, applicable to all detail specifications relative to type SBMA connectors. This specification indicates the recommended performance characteristics to be considered when writing a DS and covers all tests schedules and inspection requirements.
