General Information
This document specifies assessment of characteristics for anchor devices and safety hooks intended to be used with personal fall protection systems to prevent persons from falling and arrest falls, both permanently fixed on or into buildings and civil engineering works.
The safety hooks covered under this standard are also intended to for the attachment of mobile roof ladders or work platforms and have an opening of not less than 80 mm and not more than 150 mm, see Figure 2. The height h of the hook is at least 120 mm.
NOTE The personal fall protection systems are used according to EN 363:2018.
This standard also covers the fastening kits used to secure the anchor devices or safety hooks on or into the load bearing structure.
It specifies essential dimensions, materials and criteria to assess the performance of representative load bearing structures.
This standard describes the methods and criteria to assess the performance and durability of the following anchor kits:
- Kit A (Anchor kit incorporating a single anchor device);
- Kit B (Anchor kit incorporating a safety hook);
- Kit C (Anchor kit incorporating a horizontal wire anchor line);
- Kit D (Anchor kit incorporating a horizontal rail anchor line).
The kits described in this standard consist usually of several components. They are intended to be evaluated as a kit in its entirety.
This standard is not applicable to:
- Temporary anchor devices according to EN 795:2012;
- Facilities for roof access according to EN 516:2006;
- Permanently fixed ladders on roofs according to EN 12951:2004.
- Permanent anchor devices and safety hooks fixed with nails.

This document specifies a test method to establish the uplift resistance of installed clay or concrete tiles for roofing, complying with the relevant product standard, EN 490 or EN 1304, which are unfixed or mechanically fixed to the substructure.
NOTE The test method has been developed for clay or concrete tiles for roofing, but can apply to other discontinuously laid small elements, such as: slates; fibre cement slates; stones; and, adapted accordingly, to photovoltaic and solar thermal panels.
The test method is applicable to mechanical fixings such as clips, hooks, screws and nails.
The method is not applicable to fixed tiles having fixing patterns with less than every third tile fixed.
The test method is not applicable to under and over tiles. Examples of these tiles are given in Annex F.

It applies to continuous rooflights when mounted with an inclination in the longitudinal direction not more than 10° to the horizontal and not more than 10° in the transversal direction (see Figure 1):
a) with bearing profiles:
symmetrical, angled, curved (see Figure 2) or flat (see Figure 3);
constructed with bearing profiles parallel to the span and with a rectangular ground plan;
b) without bearing profiles:
symmetrical, angled or curved with an angle not more than 45° (measured to the horizontal at the line of fixing, see Figure 4);
constructed with a span (width) lower than or equal 2,5 m and with a rectangular ground plan.
This European Standard applies to continuous rooflights, including barrel vault rooflights, with a rectangular ground plan of plastic glazing laying in roofs having, in addition a minimum distance of b/3
(b = effective span of rooflights, corresponding to the light opening). The upstands may be self-supporting or non self-supporting.

The upstands may be self-supporting or non-self-supporting.

This Technical Specification specifies a test method for determining the strength and uplift resistance of fasteners for clay and concrete interlocking tiles for roofing.
NOTE 1 The results of this test may be used to determine the uplift force which can be withstood by the fastener; e.g. to withstand wind force.
