This European Standard applies to hooks situated on the surface of pitched roofsand permanently fixed to the load-bearing roof construction. They are intended for the attachment of slater's ladders, for supporting working platforms and as anchorage points to which personal protective equipment against falls or for restraint are attached. It specifies essential dimensions, materials to be used,requirements with respect to the load-bearing capacity, and the extent of test.

Sie dienen zum Einhängen von Dachdeckerleitern, zum Befestigen von Dachdeckerstühlen und als Anschlagpunkte für Sicherheitsgeschirre. Die Norm legt die wesentlichen Maße, die zu verwendenden Baustoffe sowie die Anforderungen an die Tragfähigkeit und den Umfang der Prüfungen fest. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Einrichtungen, die ausschließlich als Anschlagpunkte für Sicherheitsgeschirre verwendet werden (siehe prEN 795).
