This document specifies procedures for both the static and dynamic strength testing of roll-over protective structures (ROPS) rear-mounted on narrow tractors. It defines the clearance zone and acceptance conditions for rigid or tiltable, rear, two-post roll bar, frame and cab ROPS, and is applicable to tractors so equipped having the following characteristics: a ground clearance of not more than 600 mm beneath the lowest points of the front- and rear-axle housings (not considering lower points on the axle differential); a fixed or adjustable minimum track width of one of the two axles of less than 1 150 mm and with the overall width of the other axle being less than that of the first axle, including where the two axles are fitted with rims and tyres of the same size; a fixed driving position and a mass greater than 400 kg, unballasted, including the ROPS and tyres of the largest size recommended by the manufacturer; a reversible driving position (reversible seat and steering wheel), with a mass greater than 400 kg, unballasted, including the ROPS and tyres of the largest size recommended by the manufacturer and maximum unballasted mass less than 3 500 kg and maximum permissible mass less than 5 250 kg; a mass ratio less than 1,75; a ROPS of the rollbar, frame or cab type, mounted partly or entirely behind the seat index point and having a zone of clearance whose upper limit is (810 + av) mm above the seat index point in order to provide a sufficiently large area or unobstructed space for the protection of the driver. This document also specifies optional testing procedures for both seat anchorage points and folding efforts of rear-mounted ROPS designed to fold.

This document specifies procedures for both the static and dynamic strength testing of roll-over protective structures (ROPS) front-mounted on narrow tractors. It defines the clearance zone and acceptance conditions for rigid or tiltable, front, two-post ROPS, including any associated rear fixtures, and is applicable to tractors so equipped having the following characteristics: — a ground clearance of not more than 600 mm beneath the lowest points of the front- and rear-axle housings (not considering lower points on the axle differential); — a fixed or adjustable minimum track width of one of the two axles of less than 1 150 mm; NOTE It is understood that the axle mounted with the wider tyres is set at a track width of not more than 1 150 mm. Tyre track width is adjustable so that the outer edges of the narrower tyres do not extend beyond the outer edges of the tyres of the other axle. Where the two axles are fitted with rims and tyres of the same size, the fixed or adjustable track width of the two axles is less than 1 150 mm. — a mass greater than 400 kg but less than 3 500 kg, unballasted, including the ROPS and tyres of the largest size recommended by the manufacturer; — fitted with roll-over protective structures of the dual-pillar type mounted only in front of the seat index point (SIP) and characterised by a reduced clearance zone attributable to the tractor silhouette. This document also specifies optional testing procedures for both seat anchorage points and folding efforts of front-mounted ROPS designed to fold.

ISO 789-2:2018 specifies test procedures for determining the lifting capacity of rear-mounted three-point linkage systems: a) the maximum vertical force which can be exerted by the hydraulic lift at the lower hitch points throughout their full range of movement; b) the maximum vertical force which can be exerted by the hydraulic lift, at a point 610 mm to the rear of the hitch points on a frame attached to the three-point linkage, throughout its full range of movement. NOTE 1 A static test provides an adequate comparison between tractors. The test results are used only as a means of comparing tractors and not as a way of recommending the size of an implement which can be carried by the tractor. NOTE 2 This test procedure can be used to determine the lifting capacity of front-mounted three-point hitch systems.

ISO 7216:2015 specifies a method for measuring the A-weighted sound pressure level of the noise emitted by agricultural and forestry tractors while the vehicle is in motion. The conditions specified for the operation of the agricultural and forestry tractors during the measurements are defined to provide a realistic and repeatable assessment of the maximum noise emitted when it is in motion. ISO 7216:2015 is applicable to agricultural and forestry tractors, fitted with elastic tyres or rubber tracks. It is not applicable to special forestry machinery, for example, forwarders, skidders, etc., as defined in ISO 6814 and agricultural and forestry tractors, fitted with steel tracks. NOTE The test method calls for an acoustical environment which can only be obtained in an extensive open space.

ISO 5131:2015 specifies a method for the measuring and reporting of the noise at the operator(s) position of a tractor used in agriculture and forestry. The measured noise relates only to the basic machine and applies to tractors with machine-carried operators. The results provide information to the operator(s) in order to avoid exposing themselves to noise levels that could put their hearing at risk. The conditions specified for the operation of the machines during the measurements are defined to provide a realistic and repeatable assessment of the maximum noise an operator should be subjected to when operating a machine. The test procedures specified in this International Standard are survey methods as defined in ISO 12001.

ISO 5007:2003 specifies, in accordance with ISO 10326-1, a laboratory method for measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of the suspension of operator seats on agricultural wheeled tractors. It also specifies acceptance criteria based on the test results, while defining the input spectral classes relating to three classes of agricultural tractor with rubber tyres, unsprung rear axles and no low-frequency cab isolation -- those of up to 3 600 kg (class 1), those of from 3 600 kg to 6 500 kg (class 2), and those of over 6 500 kg (class 3) -- each of which defines a group of machines having similar vibration characteristics. The method tests the effectiveness of the seat suspension in reducing the vertical whole-body vibration transmitted to the operator at frequencies of from 1 Hz to 20 Hz. It is not applicable to vibration reaching the operator other than through the seat (e.g. that sensed by the operator's feet on the platform or control pedals or hands on the steering wheel).

ISO 5008 specifies methods for measuring and reporting the whole body vibration to which the operator of an agricultural wheeled tractor or other field machine is exposed when operating on a standard test track. The operating conditions of the machine and the ordinates of the artificial test tracks are also included. This International Standard does not include assessment of vibration reaching the operator other than through his/her seat or foot platform (e.g., vibration that is sensed by the feet through the controls or by the hands through the steering wheel is not considered). The purpose of ISO 5008 is to define the specification of instruments, measurement procedures, measurement site characteristics and frequency weighting that will allow the whole body vibration of agricultural wheeled tractors and field machinery to be made and reported with acceptable precision.
