This standard specifies methods for uniform assessment and the recording of: - the A-weighted sound power level; - the sound power spectrum; - a calculation method for an overall average sound pressure level at a given distance. Among these data, the sound power level is the only unambiguous characteristic. This standard is applicable to: - forced convection air cooled refrigerant condensers as specified in ENV 327; - air cooled liquid coolers "dry coolers" as specified in ENV 1048.

Diese Norm legt Verfahren fest zur einheitlichen Bestimmung und Meßwerterfassung: - eines A-bewerteten Schalldruckpegels; - eines Schalleistungsbandes; - eines Berechnungsverfahrens für gemittelte Schalldruckpegel bei einem gegebenem Abstand. Von diesen Angaben ist die Schalleistung die einzige eindeutige Characteristik. Die Norm gilt für: - ventilatorbelüftete Kältemittelverflüssiger nach EN 327; - luftgekühlte Flüssigkeitskühler, "Trochenkühlturm" nach EN 1048.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les méthodes pour une détermination et un enregistrement uniformes :
- du niveau de puissance acoustique pondéré A ;
- du spectre de la puissance acoustique ;
- d'une méthode de calcul d'un niveau global de pression acoustique moyenné à une distance donnée.
Parmi ces données, le niveau de puissance acoustique est l'unique caractéristique sans ambiguïté.
La présente Norme européenne s'applique aux :
- aérocondenseurs à convection forcée comme spécifiés dans l'EN 327 ;
- refroidisseurs de liquide à convection forcée "Batteries froides" comme spécifiés dans l'EN 1048.
