1.4 This document applies to three types of spraying systems; see 5.1.1.
Spraying systems are classified as equipment of group II, category 2G (for intended use in zone 1 or zone 2) or category 3G (for intended use in zone 2).

SIGNIFICANCE AND USE
4.1 Until a paint-roller cover is saturated with paint, only part of the paint loaded onto the paint-roller cover can be transferred to a surface being painted. The remainder of the paint is absorbed into the fabric of the paint-roller cover. The amount of paint absorbed by a paint-roller cover is inversely proportional to the amount already present within the paint-roller cover. By saturating the paint-roller cover before testing, quantitative inaccuracies of the amount of paint delivered to a surface are eliminated.
4.1.1 Using a saturated paint-roller cover enables the user to apply paint at controllable spreading rates.
4.1.2 Using a saturated paint-roller cover affords reproducibility, when repeating a test.
SCOPE
1.1 This practice covers the preparation or breaking-in of paint-roller covers for evaluation.
1.2 This practice is applicable to paint-roller covers having nap lengths up to 13 mm [1/2 in.]. Longer pile rollers can be adapted.

4.1 The final appearance of a paint brush after it has been used and cleaned is related to the ability of the brush to perform consistently upon repeated use. This test method offers a subjective visual criteria that provides a rank order of cleanability of the filaments of a brush after use.
SCOPE
1.1 This test method covers a laboratory procedure for the evaluation or comparison of the cleanability of paint brushes, or both, when used with latex paints.
1.2 This test method is applicable to paint brushes up to 100 mm (4 in.) in width and of similar head dimensions as described in Practice D5301.

3.1 During the application of coatings, paint brushes can exhibit shedding of filling material onto the coated surface. A measure of this shedding filling material will determine the paint brush’s ability to resist shedding during application.

1.1 This European Standard specifies the requirements for stationary electrostatic application equipment for ignitable coating powders to be used in explosive atmospheres generated by their own spray cloud. This European Standard applies to the design and construction of mixing machinery for liquid coating materials equipped with container of maximal volume 10 l used by vehicle refinishers and their coating materials distributors.
The pressure related parts of the machines covered are classified as no higher than category I under article 9 of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC.
NOTE Pressure related parts of the machines referred to in this European Standard exceeding the limits of category I may lead to additional application of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC.
This European Standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to mixing machinery mentioned above, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer (see Clause 4).
Mixing machinery can operate by stirring or vibrating (shaking) and consists of the following equipment:
- cabinet;
- stirrer;
- vibrator;
- shaker;
- drive unit and related devices;
- container for coating material;
- safety, measuring and control devices;
- lighting;
- heating equipment and/or air conditioning inside the mixing cabinet.
The mixing machinery may be fixed or mobile.
1.2 The following is excluded from this European Standard:
- Mixing machinery intended for:
- pressure vessels;
- open or closed material containers larger than 10 l;
- hand-held mixing tools.
1.3 This European Standard is not applicable to mixing machinery which is manufactured before the date of publication of this European Standard by CEN.
