ISO/TC 17/SC 17 - Steel wire rod and wire products
The development and maintenance of product standards and related standards for steel wire rod, wire and wire products, except stainless steels. Standardization of grades and properties of wire rod (excluded are those for special purposes, e. g. qualities standardized by ISO/TC 17/SC 4 and ISO/TC44/SC 3). Standardization of wires and wire products in so far as they are only used in that product form (excluded are those for special purposes ,e. g. steel wire ropes which are standardized in ISO /TC 105). Testing standards for wire rod and wire (excluded are general testing standards e. g. standards of ISO/TC 164)

General Information
This document specifies requirements for carbon steel wire of round cross-section supplied in the cold-draw condition intended for the manufacture of springs for bedding and seating used in the automotive and furniture manufacturing industries. This document is applicable to wire supplies in the uncoated condition, that is, without a metallic coating.

ISO 16120-1:2017 series is applicable to wire rod of non-alloy steel intended for wire drawing and/or cold rolling. ISO 16120-1:2017 specifies general requirements for non-alloy steel wire rod for conversion to wire. In addition to the requirements of this document, the general technical delivery requirements specified in ISO 404 apply.

ISO 13270:2013 covers fibres intended for use in fibre-reinforced concrete, in all types of concrete and mortar, including sprayed concrete, flooring, precast, in situ and repair concretes. ISO 7989-1:2006 specifies the requirements for the coating mass per unit area, for other properties and also for testing of non-ferrous metallic coatings on steel wire products, of circular or other cross-section. ISO 7989-1:2006 deals with general application requirements, and is of use for those coatings for which no particular requirements have been laid down in ISO 7989-2.
