Standardization of floor screeds and screed materials for floorings in buildings and civil engineering works.
General Information
This document specifies a method for determining the dimensional stability (i.e. the shrinkage and swelling) of cementitious screed, calcium sulfate screed, magnesite screed and synthetic resin screed materials made in accordance with EN 13892-1.

This European Standard specifies a method for determining the wear resistance of moulded specimens made from cementitious screed material, primarily for hard aggregate wearing screed materials or optionally for other screed materials. The method is also suitable for specimens cut from floor screed. This method is unsuitable for synthetic resin screed materials.

This European Standard specifies requirements for caustic magnesia and magnesium chloride, which will be used for magnesite screed material and magnesite screeds as specified in EN 13813.
- Standard16 pagesEnglish languagesale 10% offe-Library read for1 day
This European Standard applies to caustic magnesia and magnesium chloride used for the manufacture of magne-site screed material and magnesite floor screeds as specified in EN 13813 and describes test methods by means of which the fulfilment of the requirements in EN 14016-1 can be checked.

It defines for fresh screed material the performance related to working time, consistency, pH value and for hardened screed material, compressive strength, flexural strength, wear resistance, surface hardness, resistance to uindentation, resistance to rolling wheel, shrinkage and swelling, modulus of elasticity and bond strength. It provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this draft European standard. The marking requirements for products covered by this draft European standard are included. This standard covers screed materials as defined in prEN 13318.

This European Standard specifies a method for determining the bond strength between a screed and a standard substrate and specifies a method for determining the tensile strength at the surface of specimens made from cementitious screed-, calcium sulfate, screed-, magnesia screed- and synthetic resin screed material. The method is also suitable for floor screeds for determining the tensile strength at the surface of the floor screed or for determining the bond strength between a bonded floor screed and a base.

This European standard specifies a method for sampling of mixed screed materials, making and curing of specimens for subsequent testing. This method applies to dry material (bagged or bulk) or to freshly mixed screed materials (ready mixed or site mixed) or to products supplied in pre-packaged form or in packs ready for mixing. This method applies for mortars of cementitious-, calcium sulfate-, magnesite- and synthetic resin screed material. For mastic asphalt screed material see EN 12697-20 and EN 12697-21.

This document specifies requirements for the following types of screed material as defined in EN 13318:
- cementitious;
- calcium sulfate;
- magnesite;
- mastic asphalt;
- synthetic resin.
All types of screed material can be used for internal applications. However, cementitious screed materials can also be used for internal and external applications.
This document specifies the properties for fresh and hardened screed materials.
The floor screed materials could be installed as monolayer or multilayer products.
This document specifies designation of the screed materials as well as designation and classification of their characteristics. Furthermore, it also specifies the assessment and verification of constancy of performance, marking and labelling of the screed materials.
This document does not provide criteria or recommendations for the design and installation of screed materials.
