– zgibna vrata;
– vrtljiva vrata;
– navojna vrata;
– strešna okna;
– sekcijska dvižna vrata;
– krilna in drsna vrata. Tretja izdaja razveljavlja in nadomešča drugo izdajo, objavljeno leta 2006, ter njeno dopolnilo 1 (2010). Ta izdaja je tehnično popravljena izdaja. Glavne spremembe te izdaje v primerjavi z drugo izdajo standarda IEC 60335-2-103 so naslednje (manjše spremembe niso navedene): spremembe zahtev v točki 20 z uvedbo novih dodatkov.

Overview

EN IEC 60335-2-103:2023/A11:2023 is a European safety standard (CENELEC) for drives for gates, doors and windows used in household and similar environments. It amends EN IEC 60335-2-103:2023 and focuses on the safety of electric drives for horizontally and vertically moving gates, doors (including pedestrian and garage doors) and windows, with rated voltages up to 250 V for single‑phase drives and 480 V for other drives. The document covers hazards generated by the drive and by the power transmission to the driven part, and it complements other standards addressing the movement of driven parts (for example EN 12453 and EN 16005).

Key topics and requirements

  • Scope and application: Drives intended for household and similar installations, including ancillary components (controls, safety devices). It clarifies intended use, foreseeable misuse and limits (e.g., not addressing most forms of child play).
  • Safety and hazards: Covers hazards generated by the drive and power transmission (trapped parts, mechanical risks), and guidance for partly completed machines versus finished drives.
  • Marking and instructions: Requires marking with ambient temperature range, rated load (N or N·m) or indication if supplied with driven part, and rated operating cycles. User and installation instructions must include manufacturer details, drive designation, reasonably foreseeable misuse, components delivered, and safety warnings (e.g., disconnect power for maintenance).
  • Acoustic requirement: Instructions must state that the drive’s A‑weighted emission sound pressure level is ≤ 70 dB(A).
  • Testing and conformity: Allows reuse of prior sub‑assembly test results if performance is unchanged; specifies general test conditions and safe positions for wicket doors during tests.
  • Construction and components: Modifications cover mechanical strength, construction, components, corrosion resistance and other safety‑related clauses.

Practical applications

  • Specification, design and compliance of garage door openers, gate motors, window actuators and pedestrian door drives for residential, garden and similar settings.
  • Provides a compliance framework for manufacturers to design safe drives and to produce required technical and user documentation.
  • Used by test laboratories and conformity assessors when verifying safety performance of drives intended for household use.
