This amendment has been prepared by IEC technical committee 61: Safety of household and
similar electrical appliances.
The text of this amendment is based on the following documents:

Full information on the voting for the approval of this amendment can be found in the report
on voting indicated in the above table.
The committee has decided that the contents of this publication will remain unchanged until
1)
the maintenance result date indicated on the IEC web site under "http://webstore.iec.ch" in
the data related to the specific publication. At this date, the publication will be
– reconfirmed;
– withdrawn;
– replaced by a revised edition, or
– amended.

1 Scope
Add " routes and exits" after the word "emergency" in the 4th paragraph.

Replace the 2 dash in Note 104 with the following:
– for rolling shutters covering doors and windows (including locations where the door is set back from the
shutter), awnings, blinds and similar equipment (60335-2-97);
Add the following Note:
NOTE 105 This standard does not apply to that movement of a pedestrian door where that movement is based
solely on stored energy.
3 Definitions
3.107 Add at the end of NOTE 1 “or motor current monitoring devices”.
3.108 Add "and stops the movement of the drive" after "off position".

5 General conditions for the tests
5.2 Replace the last sentence of the first paragraph by the following.
The drive is adjusted to provide the most unfavourable conditions consistent with the
instructions.
Add the following subclause:
5.101 Drives are tested with and without any optional accessories specified in the
instructions.
7 Marking and instructions

7.12.1 Replace the 5 dash by the following.
– ensure that entrapment between the driven part and the surrounding fixed parts due to the
movement of the driven part is avoided. This can be achieved if the relevant distance
does not exceed 8 mm. However to the following distances are considered sufficient to
avoid entrapments for the parts of the body identified.For fingers a distance above 25 mm;
for feet, a distance above 50 mm; for heads a distance above 300 mm; and for the whole
body a distance above 500 mm. If these distances cannot be achieved, safeguarding
devices must be provided.
