Dieser Teil von EN beschreibt die Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Dicke einer organischen Beschichtung auf einem metallischen Substrat mit elektrischen Meßgeräten. Zwei geeignete Verfahren werden in diesem Teil von EN angegeben: a) Dickenmessung auf magnetischem Substrat, z.B. kaltgewalztem Stahl oder Stahl mit Metallüberzug; b) Dickenmessung auf nichtmagnetischem Substrat, z.B. Aluminium und Aluminiumlegierungen.
