Tore - Luftdurchlässigkeit - Prüfverfahren
1.1 Allgemeines Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung des Widerstandes gegen Luftdurchlässigkeit für
Tore in geschlossener Stellung fest. Die Tore sind für den Einbau in Zugangsbereichen von Personen vorgesehen, wobei deren Hauptaufgaben darin bestehen, für Waren- und Fahrzeugverkehr sichere Zufahrt und Personen sicheren Zutritt zu Industrie-, Gewerbe-oder Wohnanlagen zu ermöglichen. Die Tore dürfen hand- oder kraftbetätigt sein. Diese Norm gilt für alle Tore nach prEN 13241:1998. 1.2 Ausnahmen Sie gilt nicht für: - Schleusentore und Docktore; - Türen in Aufzügen; - Türen in Fahrzeugen; - gepanzerte Türen; - Tore, die hauptsächlich zum Zurückhalten von Tieren vorgesehen sind; - textile Theatervorhänge; - horizontal bewegbare Tore mit einer Breite von weniger als 2,5 m und einer Fläche von weniger als 6,25 m², die hauptsächlich für die Benutzung durch Fußgänger ausgelegt sind; - Drehtüren von beliebiger Größe; - Tore außerhalb der Reichweite von Personen (wie z. B. Schutzgitter für Portalkräne);
- Eisenbahnschranken; - ausschließlich für den Fahrzeugverkehr verwendete Schranken.
Portes équipant les locaux industriels, commerciaux et les garages - Perméabilité a l'air - Méthode d'essai
1.1 Généralité La présente norme définit une méthode d'essai permettant de déterminer la résistance à la perméabilité à l'air des portes en position fermée. Les portes sont destinées à être installées dans des zones accessibles aux personnes dont l'utilisation principale prévue est de donner un accès sans danger aux marchandises, aux véhicules et aux personnes dans des locaux industriels, commerciaux ou résidentiels. Les portes peuvent être manoeuvrées manuellement ou motorisées. Le présent document s'applique à toutes les portes prévues conformément au prEN 13241:1998. 1.2 Exclusions Elle ne s'applique pas : - aux portails fermés à clé et aux grilles d'entrée de docks ; - aux portes d'ascenseurs ; - aux portes de véhicules ; - aux portes blindées ; - aux portes principalement utilisées pour la retenue des animaux ; - aux rideaux en tissu de théâtres ; - aux portes manoeuvrées horizontalement ayant une largeur inférieure à 2,5 m et une surface inférieure à 6,25 m² principalement destinées à l'usage des piétons ; - aux portes tambours quelles que soient leurs dimensions ;
- aux portes hors d'atteinte des personnes (comme les barrières sur les portiques de grue) ; - aux barrières de passages à niveau ; - aux barrières exclusivement destinées à la circulation automobile.

Overview
SIST EN 12427:2001 is a European Standard developed by CEN that specifies a test method for determining air permeability of industrial, commercial, and garage doors and gates. The standard focuses on measuring air leakage through doors when they are in a closed position. Its scope covers doors intended for installation in spaces accessible to people, such as industrial premises, commercial buildings, and residential garages. This includes manually operated and power-operated doors designed to provide safe access for goods, vehicles, and persons.
This testing method helps ensure doors meet performance criteria related to energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and overall building environment comfort. The standard supports manufacturers, architects, and quality control professionals involved in door and gate design, installation, and compliance verification.
Key Topics
- Air permeability measurement: Defines a repeatable test method to quantify the volume of air passing through a closed door or gate under specific conditions.
- Applicable door types: Industrial, commercial, and garage doors used in pedestrian and vehicle access areas.
- Exclusions: The test method does not apply to lock gates, dock gates, lift doors, vehicle doors, armoured doors, animal retention doors, theatre curtains, small horizontally moving pedestrian doors, revolving doors, doors out of human reach, railway barriers, or vehicle-only barriers.
- Reference compliance: Supports doors manufactured per the guidelines of prEN 13 241:1998.
- Safety and access considerations: Emphasizes doors ensuring safe access for people and goods.
- Testing environment: Ensures tests simulate real conditions encountered in industrial and commercial premises.
Applications
SIST EN 12427:2001 is essential for multiple stakeholders:
- Manufacturers: To validate the airtightness and quality of newly produced doors and gates, ensuring compliance with European air permeability standards.
- Building designers and architects: To select doors that meet energy efficiency requirements and contribute to reducing air infiltration in buildings.
- Quality control and testing laboratories: To perform standardized air permeability tests facilitating consistent, objective performance evaluation.
- Facility managers and maintenance teams: To assess existing door installations for air leakage issues, optimizing indoor climate control and reducing energy costs.
- Regulatory bodies: To reference uniform test methods when certifying doors for industrial, commercial, and residential buildings.
Adhering to SIST EN 12427:2001 contributes directly to improved building energy performance by minimizing uncontrolled airflow, enhancing indoor comfort, and aiding compliance with environmental and energy regulations.
