Metallic and other inorganic coatings - Definitions and conventions concerning porosity
This European Standard defines porosity and its associated terms and outlines the principles involved in porosity testing of metallic and related inorganic coatings. It also considers the purpose of porosity testing, thereby assisting the user to select the most suitable test for the product and its service application.
The porosity test cannot be used to establish corrosion performance standards.

Die Europäische Norm legt die Porigkeit und die zugehörenden Begriffe fest und beschreibt die Grundlagen, die sich auf die Porenprüfung von metallischen und verwandten Schichten beziehen. Ferner wird auf den Zweck der Porenprüfung eingegangen, der darin besteht, den Anwender bei der Auswahl der für das jeweilige Produkt und seine Anwendung geeignetsten Prüfung zu unterstützen. Die Porenprüfung kann nicht als Ersatz für Korrosionsprüfnormen eingesetzt werden.

La présente Norme européenne définit la porosité et les termes qui y sont associés et présente les principes liés au contrôle de la porosité des revetements métalliques et autres revetements non organiques. Elle prend également en compte l'objet de ces contrôles de porosité afin d'aider l'utilisateur a choisir quel essai est le plus approprié pour son produit et ses applications.
L'essai de porosité ne peut pas etre utilisé pour rédiger des normes de performance en corrosion.
