IEC 61340-4-9:2016 provides test methods for evaluating the electrical resistance of garments that contain surface conductive or dissipative components or materials used in the electronics industry for the control of electrostatic discharge. This standard defines procedures for measuring electrical resistance, including a system resistance test for garments that provide a ground path for personnel. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) classification of three types of garments - static control garments, - groundable static control garments, and - groundable static control garment system; b) additional measurements according to the the garment type including cuff measurements, panel to groundable point, testing with a person in the garment system; c) sleeve to sleeve measurements allowed with probes or by hanging; d) additional recommended values for new garment types as set out in Annex A.

L'IEC 61340-4-9:2016 fournit des méthodes d'essai pour l'évaluation de la résistance électrique des vêtements incluant des composants ou des matériaux à surface conductrice ou dissipative utilisés dans l'industrie électronique pour le contrôle des décharges électrostatiques. La présente norme définit les procédures pour mesurer la résistance électrique, y compris un essai de résistance du système applicable aux vêtements qui fournissent un chemin de mise à la terre au personnel. Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l'édition précédente: classification de trois types de vêtements - les vêtements antistatiques, - les vêtements antistatiques pouvant être reliés à la terre, et - le système de vêtement antistatique pouvant être relié à la terre; b) mesures supplémentaires selon le type de vêtement, incluant des mesures de bords-côtes, entre pièces et point pouvant être relié à la terre, des essais pratiqués avec une personne dans le système de vêtement; c) mesures manche à manche autorisées avec des calibres ou par suspension; d) valeurs recommandées supplémentaires pour les nouveaux types de vêtements, comme le montre l'Annexe A.

Ta del standarda IEC 61340 podaja preskusne metode za merjenje električne upornosti oblačil, ki se uporabljajo za zaščito pred statično elektriko. Te preskusne metode se lahko uporabljajo za vrednotenje zunanjih oblačil, ki so homogeno prevodna/disipativna ali vključujejo površinsko prevodne/disipativne dele ali elemente.
OPOMBA: Preskusne metode, določene v tem standardu, morda ne omogočajo meritev materialov s skritimi prevodnimi sloji.
Z metodo preskušanja upornosti od točke do točke se preskuša električna upornost med rokavoma, izbranima vložkoma ali vsaj dvema poljubnima električno povezanima deloma oblačila za zaščito pred statično elektriko, vključno z električno upornostjo prek šivov in zavihkov oblačila (kot je ustrezno).
Dovoljena je alternativna metoda preskušanja od rokava do rokava, pri čemer je oblačilo obešeno s sponkami.
Oblačila za zaščito pred statično elektriko, ki so električno povezana z uporabnikom in zagotavljajo ozemljitev, so ovrednotena z metodo preskušanja upornosti od točke do točke, metodo preskušanja od točke upornosti do točke ozemljitve in sistemskim preskusom za ugotavljanje upornosti od uporabnika skozi oblačilo do točke ozemljitve sistema oblačila.

FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote
international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To
this end and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications,
Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC
