This document (EN ISO 2286-2:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 “Rubber
and rubber products” in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 “Textiles and textile
products” the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2017, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by April 2017.

Foreword

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 2286-2:1998), which has been technically
revised. The changes are as follows:
— in 3.1.1, the accuracy of the balance has been changed;
— in 3.2, the usable width of the sample has been clearly specified;
— in 3.3, the drying process has been changed to optional and the conditioning atmosphere has been
specified more clearly;
