This document specifies test conditions and the procedure to be followed for determining the tear strength of a trapezoidal specimen of a rubber- or plastics-coated fabric, using a tensile testing machine. This test can be carried out:
- either on test specimens conditioned in reference atmospheres; or
- on test specimens which have been subjected to any necessary treatment for the application considered, for example dipping.

Dieses Dokument legt Prüfbedingungen und das anzuwendende Verfahren für die Bestimmung der Reißfestigkeit eines trapezförmigen Probekörpers eines mit Gummi oder Kunststoff beschichteten Materials mithilfe einer Zugprüfmaschine fest. Diese Prüfung kann wie folgt durchgeführt werden:
- entweder an im Referenzklima konditionierten Probekörpern oder
- an Probekörpern, die jeder notwendigen Behandlung für die betrachtete Anwendung, wie etwa Tauchen, unterzogen wurden.

Le présent document spécifie les conditions d’essai et le mode opératoire à suivre pour déterminer, à l’aide d’une machine d’essai de traction, la résistance au déchirement d’une éprouvette trapézoïdale de support textile revêtu de caoutchouc ou de plastique. Cet essai peut être effectué :
- soit sur des éprouvettes conditionnées dans les atmosphères de référence ;
- soit sur des éprouvettes ayant subi tout traitement nécessaire pour l’application envisagée (par exemple, le trempage).

Ta standard določa preskusne pogoje in postopke, ki jih je treba upoštevati za ugotavljanje pretržne trdnosti trapeznega vzorca proti upogibanju upognjenih gumiranih ali plastificiranih tekstilij s pomočjo stroja za natezno preskušanje. Ta test se lahko izvede: – bodisi na preskusnih vzorcih, pogojenih v referenčnih atmosferah, bodisi – na preskusnih vzorcih, ki so bili podvrženi kakršni koli obdelavi, potrebni za zadevno uporabo, na primer namakanju.
