This document specifies two separate methods for determining the resistance of a material to wet and dry abrasion.
It is applicable to the coated surface or surfaces of coated fabrics.
It does not apply to determining the abrasion behaviour of an uncoated surface of a coated fabric, for which the methods for uncoated textiles described in the ISO 12947 series apply.

Dieses Dokument legt zwei getrennte Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Abriebwiderstandes eines Materials gegen nassen und trockenen Abrieb fest.
Dieses Dokument ist anzuwenden für die beschichtete Oberfläche oder Oberflächen von beschichteten Flächengebilden.
Dieses Dokument ist nicht anzuwenden für die Bestimmung des Abriebverhaltens der unbeschichteten Oberfläche eines beschichteten textilen Flächengebildes, für das die in der Normenreihe ISO 12947 beschriebenen Verfahren für unbeschichtete Textilien gelten.

Le présent document spécifie deux méthodes distinctes permettant de déterminer la résistance d’un matériau à l’usure dans des conditions sèches et mouillées.
Il s’applique aux surfaces revêtues et aux surfaces des supports textiles revêtus.
Il ne s’applique pas pour déterminer le comportement à l’usure de la surface non enduite d’un support textile revêtu, pour lequel les méthodes destinées aux textiles non enduits décrites dans la série de normes ISO 12947 sont applicables.

This document (EN ISO 5470-2:2021) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 "Rubber
and rubber products" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 “Textiles and textile
products” the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by March 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 5470-2:2003.
