Carbon fibre yarns - Part 2: Test methods and general specifications
This standard is applicable to high-performance, high modulus carbon fibre filament yarns as defined in material standards. The carbon fibre filament yarns are used for manufacturing semi-finished products and for reinforcing metallic, plastic and ceramic parts. Polyacrylonitrile, pitch or viscose filament yarns are used as precursor which are transformed into carbon fibre filament yarns by controlled pyrolysis.

Diese Norm gilt für Filamentgarne hoher Festigkeit und mit hohem Elastizitätsmodul nach Werkstoffnormen angewendet. Die Kohlenstoffilamentgarne werden für die Herstellung von Halbzeug und zur Verstärkung von Teilen aus Metallen, Kunststoffen und keramischen Werkstoffen verwendet. Als Ausgangsmaterial dienen Filamentgarne aus Polyacrylnitril, Pech oder Viskose, die durch eine gesteuerte Pyrolyse in Kohlenstoffilamentgarne überführt werden.

Cette norme est applicable aux fils réalisés à partir de fibres de carbone, haute performance, haut module, définis dans la nome européenne de matériaux. Les fibres de carbone sont utilisées pour fabriquer des semi-produits et pour renforcer des pièces métalliques, plastiques et céramiques. Les fibres de polyacrilonitrile de brai ou de viscose sont utilisées comme précurseur. Elles sont transformées en fibre de carbone par pyrolyse contrôlée.
