Machine tools - Safety - Sawing machines for cold metal (ISO 16093:2017)
ISO 16093:2017 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events to sawing machines as defined in Clause 3, whose primary intended use is for sawing cold metal (ferrous and non-ferrous), or material partly of cold metal and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Clause 4).
ISO 16093:2017 is applicable to (metal) sawing machines which are manufactured after the date of publication of this document.
When additional processing (i.e. milling, boring, marking, finishing operation, etc.) is considered, this document can serve as a basis for safety requirements. For more detailed information, refer to the bibliography.
ISO 16093:2017 deals with noise hazards but does not provide a full noise test code. It is intended to draft such a code in the next revision of this document.
ISO 16093:2017 does not include requirements and safety measures for fire and explosion hazards. It is intended to deal with them in the next revision of this document.

ISO 16093:2017 traite de tous les phénomènes dangereux, situations dangereuses et événements dangereux significatifs pour les machines à scier telles que définies dans l'Article 3, destinées principalement au sciage des métaux à froid (ferreux et non ferreux) ou des matériaux constitués partiellement de métaux à froid, et dans des conditions de mauvaise utilisation qui sont raisonnablement prévisibles par le fabricant (voir l'Article 4).
ISO 16093:2017 est applicable aux machines à scier (les métaux) fabriquées après la date de publication du présent document.
Lorsqu'un traitement supplémentaire (c'est-à-dire fraisage, alésage, marquage, opération de finition, etc.) est envisagé, le présent document peut servir de base pour les exigences de sécurité. Pour des informations plus détaillées, se reporter à la Bibliographie.

Ta mednarodni standard določa varnostne zahteve in ukrepe za osebe, ki se ukvarjajo z načrtovanjem, izgradnjo ter dobavo (vključno z namestitvijo, postavitvijo, vzdrževanjem in popravilom) strojev, kot je opredeljeno v točki 3 tega standarda, ki so primarno namenjeni za rezanje hladnih kovin (železnih in neželeznih) ali materiala, ki je delno sestavljen iz hladnih kovin, z orodjem za žaganje.
Ta mednarodni standard upošteva predvideno uporabo, pričakovano nepravilno uporabo, postavitev stroja in namestitev rezil, vzdrževanje in čiščenje ter njihove učinke na varnost upravljavcev in drugih izpostavljenih oseb. Predvideva dostop do stroja iz vseh smeri na ravni tal in obravnava tako običajno delovanje kot nepričakovan ali nenameren zagon.
Ta mednarodni standard zajema večje nevarnosti iz točke 4 in se uporablja tudi za pomožne naprave (npr. opremo za ravnanje z obdelovanci in čipirane transporterje), ki so sestavni del stroja. Kadar te naprave niso sestavni del stroja, mora načrtovalec, proizvajalec ali dobavitelj, ki namesti opremo, upoštevati njihovo predvideno uporabo in vzpostaviti pogoje za varno povezavo teh naprav s strojem.
Ta standard se uporablja predvsem za stroje za žaganje (kovin), ki so bili izdelani po tem, ko je CEN objavil ta standard.

This document (EN ISO 16093:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 39 "Machine
tools" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 143 “Machine tools - Safety” the secretariat of
which is held by SNV.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2017, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by October 2017.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
This document supersedes EN 13898:2003+A1:2009.

This European Standard has been prepared under a Commission’s standardization request “M/079” to
provide one voluntary means of conforming to essential requirements of the Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC.
Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union under that Directive compliance
with the normative clauses of this standard given in Table ZA.1 confers, within the limits of the scope of
this standard, a presumption of conformity with the corresponding essential requirements of that
Directive and associated EFTA regulations.
