This standard covers the essential health and safety requirements for the design of reaction moulding plant with the exception of metering and mixing units (for these see part 1). The significant and specific hazards are listed in clause 4 and are dealt with in this standard. This standard does not covers completely the hazards arising from the use of highly flammabe additives, for example pentane used as a blowing agent (see 4.3), because these hazards depend to a large extent on the additives and process used.

Diese Norm legt die wesentlichen Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsanforderungen an die Konstruktion von Reaktionsgießanlagen, mit Ausnahme der Misch- und Dosiereinheiten fest (diese siehe Teil 1). Die signifikanten und spezifischen Gefährdungen sind in Abschnitt 4 angegeben und sind in dieser Norm behandelt. Diese Norm behandelt die Gefährdungen nicht vollständig, die durch die Verwendung leicht entzündlicher Additive, z.B. Pentan als Treibmittel (siehe 4.3), hervorgerufen werden, weil diese Gefährdungen wesentlich von den verwendeten Additiven und dem angewandten Verfahren abhängen.

Cette norme spécifie les exigences essentielles d'hygiène et de sécurité relatives à la conception des installations de moulage par réaction, à l'exception des unités de dosage et de mélange (pour ces dernières, voir partie 1). Tous les phénomènes dangereux significatifs et spécifiques sont énumérés à l'article 4 et sont traités dans cette norme. Cette norme ne couvre pas complètement les phénomènes dangereux provenant de l'utilisation d'additifs facilement inflammables, par exemple le pentane utilisé comme agent d'expansion (voir 4.3), car ces phénomènes dépendent principalement des additifs et du procédés utilisés.
