Domestic and non-domestic gas-fired forced convection air heaters for space heating not exceeding a net heat input of 300 kW

This document specifies the requirements and test methods for the safety and efficiency of gas fired air heaters with or without a fan to assist the transportation of combustion air and/or flue gases, hereafter referred to as "appliances".
This standard also applies to warm air heaters having forced draught burners.
This European Standard applies to Type A2, A3 appliances, with an input not exceeding 300 kW (net CV basis), intended for non-domestic use.
This European Standard also applies to Type B11, B11AS, B11BS, B12, B12AS, B12BS, B13, B13AS, B13BS, B14, B14AS, B14BS, B22, B23, B41, B41AS, B41BS, B42, B42AS, B42BS, B43, B43AS, B43BS, B44, B44AS, B44BS, B52, B53, C11, C12, C13, C21, C31, C32, C33, C41, C62 and C63 appliances with an input not exceeding 300 kW (net CV basis), intended for domestic and non-domestic use.
Provision of the heated air may be by means of ducting.
This European Standard does not apply to:
a)   dual purpose air conditioning appliances (heating and cooling);
b)   appliances where the air is heated by an intermediate fluid;
c)   portable or transportable forced convection appliances;
d)   appliances fitted with manual or automatic means of adjusting the combustion products evacuation by means of flue dampers;
e)   appliances having multiple heating units with a single draught diverter;
f)   appliances fitted with more than one flue outlet;
g)   appliances fitted with gas boosters;
h)   C21 and C41 appliances for 3rd family gases.
NOTE   For C41 appliances, see all requirements and test methods that are valid for C21 appliances, unless otherwise stated.
This European Standard is not intended to cover appliances projected for connection to gas grids where the quality of the distributed gas is likely to vary to a large extent over the lifetime of the appliance.
This European Standard is applicable to appliances which are intended to be type tested.

Dieses Dokument ist darüber hinaus auch auf Warmlufterzeuger mit Gebläsebrennern anwendbar.
Dieses Dokument gilt für Geräte des Typs A2 und A3 mit einer Leistungsaufnahme von bis zu 300 kW (Netto-CV Basis) für den nicht-häuslichen Gebrauch.

f) mit einem oder mehreren Abgasaustritten ausgestattete Geräte;
g) mit Gas-Boostern ausgestattete Geräte;
h) C21- und C41-Geräte für die dritte Gasfamilie.
ANMERKUNG   Sofern nicht anders angegeben, sind für C41-Geräte die für C21-Geräte geltenden Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren zu beachten.
Dieses Dokument soll keine Geräte umfassen, bei denen beabsichtigt ist, sie an ein Gasnetz anzuschließen, bei welchem die Beschaffenheit des verteilten Gases über die Lebensdauer des Geräts wahrscheinlich stark schwankt.
Dieses Dokument gilt für alle Geräte, die für eine Typprüfung vorgesehen sind.

La présente Norme européenne définit les exigences et les méthodes d’essai relatives à la sécurité et au rendement des générateurs d’air chaud utilisant les combustibles gazeux, avec ou sans ventilateur pour assister le transport de l’air comburant et/ou des produits de combustion, appelés ci-après « appareils ».
La présente Norme européenne s’applique aux appareils de types A2, A3, B11, B11AS, B11BS, B12, B12AS, B12BS, B13, B13AS, B13BS, B14, B14AS, B14BS, B22, B23, B41, B41AS, B41BS, B42, B42AS, B42BS, B43, B43AS, B43BS, B44, B44AS, B44BS, B52, B53, C11, C12, C13, C21, C31, C32, C33, C41, C62 et C63 dont le débit est inférieur ou égal à 300 kW (sur PCI), destinés à être utilisés dans des locaux à usage d'habitation individuelle et autres. La distribution de l'air chaud peut se faire par des conduits.
La présente Norme européenne ne s’applique pas :
a)   aux appareils de climatisation à usage double (chauffage et refroidissement) ;
b)   aux appareils de chauffage de l'air par un fluide caloporteur intermédiaire ;
c)   aux appareils à convection forcée portatifs ou transportables ;
d)   aux appareils domestiques destinés à être installés à l'extérieur ;
e)   aux appareils dans lesquels le réglage de l'évacuation des produits de combustion à l’aide de clapets de fumée se fait par le biais d'un dispositif manuel ou automatique ;
f)   aux appareils comportant plusieurs générateurs de chaleur associés à un seul coupe tirage antirefouleur ;
g)   aux appareils comportant plusieurs buses d'évacuation des produits de combustion ;
h)   aux appareils comportant des surpresseurs pour le gaz ;
i)   aux appareils domestiques de types C22, C23, C42, C43, C52 et C53 ;
j)   aux appareils de types C21 et C41 utilisant les gaz de la troisième famille.
NOTE   Pour les appareils de type C41, voir l'ensemble des exigences et des méthodes d'essai applicables aux appareils de type C21, sauf indication contraire.
La présente Norme européenne s’applique aux appareils destinés à être soumis à des essais de type. Elle comprend également des exigences relatives à l'évaluation de la conformité, y compris le contrôle de fabrication en usine, ces dernières exigences s’appliquant toutefois exclusivement aux POCED et aux terminaux associés.

OPOMBA: Za aparate C41 glej vse zahteve in preskusne metode, ki veljajo za naprave C21, razen če je navedeno drugače. Ta evropski standard se uporablja za aparate, predvidene za tipski preskus. This document (EN 17082:2019) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 180
“Decentralized gas heating”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2020, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by April 2020.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the

This document supersedes EN 525:2009, EN 621:2009, EN 778:2009, EN 1196:2011, EN

This document covers the safety and energy efficiency requirements of domestic and non-
domestic warm air heaters previously covered by EN 525:2009, EN 621:2009, EN 778:2009, EN
1196:2011, EN 1020:2009 and EN 1319:2009. Additional technical requirements have been
made compared to the superseded documents to take account the following:
— Specific requirements on risk analysis due to differences in the Essential Requirements for
the Gas Appliance Regulation compared to those of the Gas Appliance Directive;
— Additional requirements on appliance efficiency, including the need to calculate the
seasonal efficiency related to the requirements of the Eco-Design Regulation.
Changes have also been made to the document structure to improve its ease of use, for example
requirements and associated test methods have been moved into the same clause.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission
and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of
EU Directive(s).
