BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 122, Composition of Magnesium-Aluminium- Zinc Alloy
Ingots for Casting Purposes, was drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 79, Light
Metals and their Alloys, the Secretariat of which is held by the Association Française de
Normalisation (AFNOR).
A first draft proposal, developed by Working Group No. 3, Magnesium and its Alloys,
was discussed in detail by the Technical Committee during its second meeting, held in
Paris, in October 1956.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 122, Composition des lingots en alliages magnésium-
aluminium-zinc pour fonderie, a été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 79, Métaux
légers et leurs alliages, dont le Secrétariat est assuré par l’Association Française de Norma-
lisation (AFNOR).
Un premier avant-projet, élaboré par le Groupe de Travail No 3, Magnésium et ses
alliages, fut discuté en détail par le Comité Technique au cours de sa deuxième réunion,
tenue à Paris, en octobre 1956.
A la suite des décisions prises au cours de cette réunion, le Secrétariat ISO/TC 79
