This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2003 and its Amendment 1:2009. This edition constitutes a technical revision. Ta del standarda IEC 60947 se uporablja za krmilne naprave in stikalne elemente za krmiljenje, signalizacijo, spajanje itd. stikalnih in krmilnih naprav.
Uporablja se za krmilne naprave z nazivno napetostjo, ki ne presega 1000 V pri izmeničnem toku (pri frekvenci, ki ne presega 1000 Hz) ali 600 V pri enosmernem toku.
