This European Standard specifies the definitions and requirements for ancillary fittings of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U), polypropylene (PP), and polyethylene (PE) intended to be used in non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage systems, conforming to EN 476:
a) outside the building structure (application area code "U"), reflected in the marking of products by "U", and
b) both buried in ground within the building structure (application area code "D") and outside the building structure (application area code "U"), reflected in the marking of products by "UD".
It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred in this standard.
The ancillary fittings covered by this standard are the following:
- sealed access fittings;
- rodding point covers;
- rodding tees;
- mechanical saddles;
- inspection chambers for shallow non-roadway applications to a maximum depth of 1,25 m.
NOTE 1 Inspection chambers as defined in 6.1.3 of EN 476:1997 have a riser with a DN/ID less than 800 mm.
NOTE 2 Deep inspection chambers and manholes for application area U are specified in Part 2 of this standard.
The fittings can be manufactured by various methods e.g. injection moulding, rotational moulding, spiral winding or fabricated from components made to other standards.
The jointing can be with:
- elastomeric ring seal joint;
- cemented joint for PVC-U;
- welded joint for PP and PE.
NOTE 3 Pipes, fittings and other components conforming to any of the plastics products standards listed in Clause 2 can be used with ancillary fittings conforming to this standard, provided they conform to the requirements for joint dimensions given in Clause 6 and to the requirements of Table 5.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Definitionen und Anforderungen für Zubehörteile aus weichmacherfreiem Poly-vinylchlorid (PVC-U), Polypropylen (PP) und Polyethylen (PE) fest, die für erdverlegte drucklose Abwasser-kanäle und -leitungen nach EN 476 verwendet werden: a) außerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskennzeichen „U“), Produktkennzeichnung „U“; und b) erdverlegt sowohl außerhalb (Anwendungskennzeichen „U“) als auch innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskennzeichen „D“), Produktkennzeichnung „UD“. Sie legt auch die Prüfparameter für die Prüfverfahren fest, auf die in dieser Norm verwiesen wird. Diese Norm gilt für die folgenden Arten von Zubehörteilen: ⎯ verschließbare Reinigungsrohre; ⎯ Abdeckungen von Reinigungsöffnungen; ⎯ Reinigungsformstücke; ⎯ mechanische Sattelstücke; ⎯ Kontrollschächte für Einbautiefen bis höchstens 1,25 m ohne Verkehrslast. ANMERKUNG 1 Kontrollschächte (Inspektionsöffnungen) nach EN 476:1997, 6.1.3 haben ein Steigrohr mit einer Nennweite kleiner DN/ID 800. ANMERKUNG 2 Einsteigschächte und Kontrollschächte für tiefe Erdverlegung im Anwendungsgebiet U sind in Teil 2 der vorliegenden Norm festgelegt. Die Zubehörteile können durch verschiedene Verfahren wie z. B. Spritzguss, Rotationsgießen oder spiral-förmiges Wickeln als auch handgefertigt aus Rohrleitungsteilen, die anderen Normen entsprechen, hergestellt werden. Die Verbindungen können ausgeführt sein als: ⎯ elastomere Dichtringverbindungen; ⎯ Klebverbindungen für Rohrleitungsteile aus PVC-U; ⎯ Schweißverbindungen für Rohrleitungsteile aus PP und PE. ANMERKUNG 3 Rohre, Formstücke und andere Rohrleitungsteile, die einer der in Abschnitt 2 aufgeführten Produkt-normen für Kunststoff-Produkte entsprechen, können mit Zubehörteilen nach dieser Norm verwendet werden, sofern sie die Anforderungen an die Anschlussmaße nach Abschnitt 6 sowie die Anforderungen an die Gebrauchstauglichkeit nach Tabelle 6 erfüllen.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les définitions et les exigences pour les raccords auxiliaires en poly(chlorure de vinyle) non plastifié (PVC U), polypropylène (PP) et polyéthylène (PE) destinés à être utilisés dans des branchements et des collecteurs d'assainissement enterrés sans pression, conformes à l'EN 476 :
a) à l'extérieur de la structure du bâtiment (code de zone d'application « U »), repéré au niveau du marquage des produits par « U » ; et
b) à la fois enterré dans la structure du bâtiment (code de zone d'application « D ») et à l'extérieur du bâtiment (code de zone d'application « U »), repéré au niveau du marquage des produits par « UD ».
Elle spécifie également les paramètres d’essai des méthodes d’essai auxquelles il est fait référence dans la présente norme.
Les raccords auxiliaires couverts par la présente norme sont les suivants :
- raccords d'accès scellés ;
- point de curage ;
- tés de curage ;
- selles mécaniques ;
- boîtes de branchement pour les applications hors chaussée jusqu'à une profondeur maximale de 1,25 m.
NOTE 1 Les boîtes de branchement telles que définies en 6.1.3 de l'EN 476:1997 ont une rehausse ayant un DN/ID inférieur à 800 mm.
NOTE 2 Les boîtes de branchement et les regards enterrés en profondeur pour la zone d’application U sont spécifiés dans la Partie 2 de la présente norme.
Les raccords peuvent être fabriqués selon différentes méthodes, par exemple moulage par injection, rotomoulage, enroulement en spirale ou façonnage à partir de composants fabriqués selon d'autres normes.
Les assemblages peuvent être :
- à bague d'étanchéité en élastomère ;
- à coller pour le PVC U ;
- soudés pour le PP et le PE.
