Diese Norm legt die Prinzipien, Bedingungen und Verfahren der Prüfmethoden zur Messung der Fahreigenschaften von elektrisch angetriebenen Straßenfahrzeugen (reine Elektrofahrzeuge) fest. Der Begriff Fahreigenschaften umfaßt die Begriffe Geschwindigkeit, Beschleunigung, Steigfähigkeit am Hang, usw. Diese Norm gilt für die internationalen Fahrzeugkategorien M1, M2, M3, N1, N2 et N3 entsprechend der Direktive 92/53/EEC und für Dreiradwagen der Kategorie L5 entsprechend der Direktive 92/61/EEC. Diese Norm gilt nicht für hybrid oder teilweise angetriebene Straßenfahrzeuge.

Le concept de performances routières comprend les notions de vitesse, d'accélération, d'aptitude en côte, etc. La présente norme s'applique aux catégories internationales de véhicules M1, M2, M3, N1 et N2, N3 conformément à la Directive 92/53/CEE et aux tricycles de catégorie L5 conformément à la Directive 92/61/CEE.
