This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for pressure sensing devices (referred to as psds) for the control of combustible gases of the first, second and third families, air, combustion products and mixtures there of for pressures up to 4 bar. It covers all types of psd including electronic, differential and inferential types. The requirements for 'S' class psd are intended to meet the requirements for increased reliability for steam boilers. The methods of test given in this standard are intended for product type testing. Tests intended for production testing are not specifically included.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren an Druckwächter fest, welche bei Drücken bis 4 bar eingesetzt werden, um brennbare Gase der ersten, zweiten und dritten Gasfamilie, Luft, Verbrennungsprodukte und Gemischen davon, zu überwachen. Sie gilt für alle Arten von Druckwächtern einschließlich elektronischer Ausführungen sowie für Differenzdruckwächter und ähnliche Arten. Die Anforderungen an Druckwächter der Klasse "S" sind dafür vorgesehen, die erhöhten Anforderungen an die Zuverlässigkeit ("Besondere Bauart") zum Einsatz an Dampfkesseln zu erfüllen.

La présente norme européenne précise les spécifications de fonctionnement et les méthodes d'essai des dispositifs de surveillance de la pression des combustibles, des première, seconde et troisième familles, d'air, de gaz produits par la combustion et autres mélanges gazeux jusqu'à des pressions de 4 bar (dispositifs dénommés ci-après "pressostats"). Elle s'applique à tous les types de pressostats y compris électroniques, différentiels et inférentiels. Les exigences pour les pressostats de classe 'S' tendent à répondre aux exigences de fiabilité accrue pour les chaudières à vapeur.
