This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for pressure sensing devices (PSDs) for the control of pressures of combustible gases of the first, second and third families, air, combustion products and mixtures thereof for operating pressures up to 5 bar. It covers all types of PSD including electronic, differential and inferential types.
The requirements for 'S' class PSD are intended to meet the need for increased reliability for steam boilers. The methods of test given in this European Standard are intended for product type testing. Tests intended for production testing are not specifically included.

Druckwächter für Gasbrenner und Gasgeräte
Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für Druckwächter (PSD, en: pressure sensing devices) fest, welche bei Drücken bis 5 bar eingesetzt werden, um Drücke von brennbaren Gasen der ersten, zweiten und dritten Gasfamilie, Luft, Verbrennungsprodukten und Gemischen davon, zu überwachen. Sie gilt für alle Arten von Druckwächtern einschließlich elektronischer Ausführungen sowie für Differenzdruckwächter und indirekt messende Typen.
Die Anforderungen an Druckwächter der Klasse S sind dafür vorgesehen, die erhöhten Anforderungen an die Zuverlässigkeit beim Einsatz an Dampfkesseln zu erfüllen. Die in dieser Europäischen Norm angegebenen Prüfverfahren dienen der Typprüfung. Spezielle Fertigungsprüfungen sind nicht Bestandteil dieser Norm.
Diese Europäische Norm befasst sich ausschließlich mit der Typprüfung.
Dispositifs de surveillance de pression pour brûleurs à gaz et appareils à gaz
La présente Norme européenne spécifie des exigences et des méthodes d’essai applicables aux dispositifs de surveillance de la pression (pressostats) pour la commande des pressions des gaz combustibles des première, seconde et troisième familles, de l’air, des produits de combustion et de leurs mélanges, pour des pressions de consigne allant jusqu’à 5 bar. Elle s’applique à tous les types de pressostats, de type électronique, différentiel ou interférentiel.
Les exigences pour les pressostats de classe "S" tendent à répondre aux exigences de fiabilité accrue pour les chaudières à vapeur. Les méthodes d’essai indiquées dans la présente Norme européenne permettent d’effectuer les essais de type du produit. Les essais destinés au contrôle de la production ne sont pas spécifiquement inclus.
La présente Norme européenne traite exclusivement des essais de type.
