Inland navigation vessels - Ship's boats
This standard applies to ship's boats that are used on inland navigation vessels for multi-purpose applications such as transporting a limited number of people or light cargo in small quantities over short distances. The ship's boat may also be used as a lifesaving vessel as long as no special lifesaving equipment is specified for the area of use and - if used as lifesaving appliances on passenger vessels - as long as the relevant traffic rules are observed. Ship's boats are also used for the recovery of people and equipment.

Diese Norm gilt für Beiboote, die auf Fahrzeugen der Binnenschiffahrt für den Mehrzweckeinsatz wie Transport von Personen in begrenzter Anzahl oder kleineren Nutzlasten geringen Umfangs auf kurzen Entfernungen eingesetzt werden. Das Beiboot gilt auch als Rettungsmittel, sofern für das Einsatzgebiet keine besonderen Rettungsmittel vorgeschrieben sind und bei Verwendung als Sammelrettungsmittel auf Fahrgastschiffen die entsprechenden Verkehrsvorschriften erfüllt werden. La présente norme est applicable aux bachots utilisés sur des bateaux de navigation intérieure pour des utilisations multiples, comme le transport de personnes en petit nombre ou celui de charges de faible encombrement sur de petites distances. Le bachot s'utilise également comme canot de sauvetage, sauf si le domaine d'utilisation prescrit d'autres moyens de sauvetage et s'il est utilisé comme canot de sauvetage collectif sur les bateaux de transport de personnes, dans la mesure où il a satisfait aux normes de circulation correspondantes.
