Drain and sewer systems outside buildings - Part 1: Generalities and definitions

This European Standard applies to drain and sewer systems, which operate essentially under gravity, from the point where the sewage leaves a building or roof drainage system, or enters a road gully, to the point where it is disharged into a treatment or receiving water. Drains and sewers below buildings are included provided that they do not form part of the drainage system of the building. This part covers general matters and sets out definitions of terms that relate to the functional requirements of drain and sewer systems outside buildings.

Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Entwässerungssyteme, welche hauptsächlich als Freispiegelsysteme betrieben werden. Sie gilt von dem Punkt an, wo das Abwasser das Gebäude bzw. Die Dachentwässerung verläßt oder in einen Straßenablauf, bis zu dem Punkt, wo das Abwasser in eine Behandlungsanlage oder einen Vorfluter eingeleitet wird. Abwasserleitungen und -kanäle unterhalb von Gebäuden sind hierbei eingeschlossen, solange sie nicht Bestandteil der Gebäudeentwässerung sind.

La présente norme européenne est applicable aux réseaux d'évacuation et d'assainissement qui fonctionnent principalement à écoulement libre, depuis le point où l'effluent quitte le bâtiment ou le système d'évacuation de la toiture ou atteint un caniveau de chaussée, jusqu'au point où il est déversé dans une usine d'épuration ou le milieu récepteur. Les branchements et collecteurs dans l'emprise des bâtiments et sous ces derniers sont également visés dès l'instant qu'ils ne font pas partie du système d'évacuation propre au bâtiment.
