This European Standard specifies a colour coding system for the identification of the contents of industrial and medical gas cylinders with particular reference to the property of the gas or gas mixture.
This standard does not apply to cylinders containing liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) or to fire extinguishers.
NOTE LPG are substances carried under the identification number 1965 "Hydrocarbon gas mixture, liquefied, N.O.S".

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Farbcodierungssystem für die Kennzeichnung des Inhaltes von industriellen und medizinischen Gasflaschen mit besonderem Bezug auf die Eigenschaft des Gases oder des Gasgemisches fest.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für Gasflaschen, die Flüssiggas (LPG) enthalten, oder für Feuerlöscher.
ANMERKUNG Flüssiggase (LPG) sind Stoffe unter der Kennzeichnungsnummer 1965 "Kohlenwasserstoffgas, Gemisch, verflüssigt, n.a.g."

La présente Norme européenne spécifie un système de codage par couleur pour l'identification du contenu des bouteilles à gaz à usage industriel et médical, en faisant particulièrement référence à la propriété du gaz ou du mélange de gaz.
La présente norme ne s'applique pas aux bouteilles contenant des gaz de pétrole liquéfiés (GPL) ou aux extincteurs d'incendie.
NOTE Les GPL sont des substances transportées sous le numéro d'identification 1965 «mélange d'hydrocarbures liquéfié, n.s.a.».
