ISO ISO 7376-2:1997(E)
Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO
member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical
committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has
the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in
liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical
Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting.
Publication as an International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 7376-2:1984), which has been technically revised.
International Standard ISO 7376-2 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 121, Anaesthetic and respiratory
equipment, Subcommittee SC 2, Tracheal tubes and other equipment.
ISO 7376 consists of the following parts, under the general title Laryngoscopic fittings
— Part 1: Conventional hook-on type handle-blade fittings
— Part 2: Miniature electric lamps — Screw threads and sockets for conventional blades
— Part 3: Fibre-illuminated re-usable rigid laryngoscopes.
Annex A is for information only.

Introduction
This part of ISO 7376 has been prepared in order to specify screw threads for miniature electric lamps and lamp
sockets used in laryngoscope blades as described in ISO 7376-1, to ensure the interchangeability of lamps in
laryngoscopic blades made by different manufacturers. The screw thread dimensions as given in 5.2 and 6.2 are in
inch systems because the most prevalent lamp and socket thread systems used in rigid laryngoscopes for the past
50 years have conformed to published inch thread standards.
