Railway applications - Electromagnetic compatibility - Part 5: Emission and immunity of fixed power supply installations and apparatus

This European Standard applies to emission and immunity aspects of EMC for electrical and electronic apparatus and systems intended for use in railway fixed installations associated with power supply. This includes the power feed to the apparatus, the apparatus itself with its protective control circuits, trackside items such as switching stations, power autotransformers, booster transformers, substation power switchgear and power switchgear to other longitudinal and local supplies. Filters operating at railway system voltage (for example, for harmonic suppression or power factor correction) are not included in this standard since each site has special requirements. Filters would normally have separate enclosures with separate rules for access. If electromagnetic limits are required, these will appear in the specification for the equipment. The limits in this standard do not apply to intentional communication signals. The frequency range considered is from d.c. to 400 GHz. No measurements need to be performed at frequencies where no requirement is specified. Emission and immunity limits are given for items of apparatus which are situated: a) within the boundary of a substation which delivers electric power to a railway; b) beside the track for the purpose of controlling or regulating the railway power supply, including power factor correction and filtering; c) along the track for the purpose of supplying electrical power to the railway other than by means of the conductors used for contact current collection, and associated return conductors. Included are high voltage feeder systems within the boundary of the railway which supply substations at which the voltage is reduced to the railway system voltage. NOTE 1 Examples are one conductor of a 25-0-25 kV 50 Hz system and the 110 kV 16,7 Hz supply systems. NOTE 2 Similar conductors which are outside the railway boundary are treated as in the public area and are considered to be general overhead power lines although they feed only the railway. d) beside the track for controlling or regulating electric power supplies to ancillary railway uses. This category includes power supplies to marshalling yards, maintenance depots and stations; e) various other non-traction power supplies from railway sources which are shared with railway traction. Apparatus and systems which are in an environment which can be described as residential, commercial or light industry, even when placed within the physical boundary of the railway substation, shall comply with the relevant generic European EMC standard. Excluded from the immunity requirements of this standard is power supply apparatus which is intrinsically immune to the tests defined in Tables 1 to 6 of this standard. NOTE 3 An example is an 18 MVA 230 kV to 25 kV power supply transformer. These specific provisions are to be used in conjunction with the general provisions in EN 50121-1. This part of the standard covers requirements for both apparatus and fixed installations. The sections for fixed installations are not relevant for CE marking.

Bahnanwendungen - Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit - Teil 5: Störaussendungen und Störfestigkeit von ortsfesten Anlagen und Einrichtungen der Bahnenergieversorgung

Diese Europäische Norm gilt für die EMV-Aspekte Störaussendung und Störfestigkeit für elektrische und elektronische Einrichtungen (Betriebsmittel, Geräte) und Systeme, die für die Verwendung in ortsfesten Anlagen im Zusammenhang mit der Bahnstromversorgung vorgesehen sind. Diese schließen ein: die Stromversorgung der Einrichtungen (Betriebsmittel), die Einrichtungen (Betriebsmittel) selbst zusammen mit ihren Schutzeinrichtungen, gleisseitige Einrichtungen wie z. B. Schaltstationen, Leistungs-Spartransformatoren, Booster-Transformatoren, Leistungsschaltanlagen für Unterwerke und für andere gleisseitige und örtliche Einspeisungen. Filter, die mit der Bahnbetriebsspannung betrieben werden (z. B. für die Oberschwingungsbegrenzung oder Leistungsfaktorkorrektur), sind in dieser Norm ausgenommen, da für jede Anlage besondere Festlegungen gelten. Filter besitzen üblicherweise getrennte Umgrenzungen mit eigenen Zutrittsregeln. Wenn Grenzwerte für elektromagnetische Vorgänge erforderlich sind, werden diese in der Spezifikation für das betreffende Betriebsmittel angegeben. Die Grenzwerte dieser Norm gelten nicht für absichtlich erzeugte Kommunikationssignale. Der betrachtete Frequenzbereich ist 0 Hz bis 400 GHz. Bei Frequenzen, für die keine Anforderungen spezifiziert sind, ist keine Messung erforderlich. Die Grenzwerte werden für die EMV zwischen einzelnen Einrichtungen angegeben, die angeordnet sind: a) innerhalb der Grenzen eines Unterwerkes, das eine Bahn mit elektrischer Energie versorgt; b) neben dem Gleis zum Zweck der Steuerung oder Regelung der Bahnenergieversorgung einschließ- lich der Korrektur des Leistungsfaktors und Filterung; c) entlang dem Gleis zum Zweck der Versorgung der Bahn mit elektrischer Energie durch andere Mittel als Fahrleitungen und die damit verknüpften Rückleitungen. Es sind Hochspannungsleitungen innerhalb der Grenzen der Bahn eingeschlossen, die Unterwerke versorgen, welche die Spannung auf die Versorgungsspannung der Bahn heruntertransformieren. ANMERKUNG 1 Beispiele sind eine Leitung eines 25-0-25 kV / 50 Hz-Systems und die 110 kV / 16,7 Hz-Versorgungssysteme. ANMERKUNG 2 Ähnliche Leitungen, die sich außerhalb der Grenzen der Bahnanlage befinden, werden als Leitungen betrachtet, die zum öffentlichen Bereich gehören, und daher als allgemeine Hochspannungsfreileitungen, auch wenn sie nur die Bahn versorgen. d) neben dem Gleis für die Steuerung oder Regelung der elektrischen Energieversorgung von zusätzlichen Bahneinrichtungen. Diese schließen die Energieversorgung von Rangierbahnhöfen, Wartungsdepots und Bahnhöfen ein. e) verschiedene andere Energieversorgungen, die nicht für Zwecke des Antriebs von Bahnfahrzeugen verwendet werden und aus Bahn-Energieversorgungsquellen gespeist werden, die auch der Zugversorgung dienen. Einrichtungen und Systeme, die in einer Umgebung angeordnet sind, die als Wohnbereich, Geschäfts- oder Gewerbebereich oder als Kleinbetrieb beschrieben werden kann, müssen die zutreffende Europäische EMV-Fachgrundnorm einhalten, auch wenn sie innerhalb der physikalischen Grenzen der Bahnanlage angeordnet sind. Einrichtungen der Bahnenergieversorgung, die von Natur aus gegen die in den Tabellen 1 bis 6 festgelegten Prüfstörgrößen störfest sind, sind von den Anforderungen dieser Norm zur Störfestigkeit ausgenommen. ANMERKUNG 3 Ein Beispiel ist ein 18 MVA / 230 kV / 25 kV - Leistungstransformator. Diese spezifischen Vorgaben sind in Verbindung mit den allgemeinen Angaben in EN 50121-1 anzuwenden. Applications ferroviaires - Compatibilité électromagnétique - Partie 5: Emission et immunité des installations fixes d'alimentation de puissance et des équipements associés

Cette Norme Européenne s’applique aux aspects d’émission et d’immunité de CEM pour les appareils et les systèmes électriques et électroniques destinés à être utilisés dans les installations fixes associées à l’alimentation. Cela concerne l’alimentation des appareils, les appareils eux-mêmes avec leurs circuits de commande de protection, les composants au bord des voies tels que les stations de sectionnement, les autotransformateurs, les transformateurs suceurs, les appareillages de coupure de sous-station et les appareillages de coupure d’autres alimentations longitudinales et locales. Introduction
The requirements of this standard have been specified so as to ensure a level of electromagnetic
emission which will cause minimal disturbance to other equipment. The levels, however, do not cover
the following cases:
a) where the probability of an occurrence likely to produce emissions in excess of those which would
normally be experienced is extremely low,

b) where highly susceptible apparatus will be used in close proximity of the equipment covered by
this standard, in which case further measures may have to be taken.

The emission limits given are on the basis that the equipment of the product family range is installed in
railway substation areas.
1 Scope
This European Standard applies to emission and immunity aspects of EMC for electrical and electronic
apparatus and systems intended for use in railway fixed installations associated with power supply.
This includes the power feed to the apparatus, the apparatus itself with its protective control circuits,
