Portable electrical apparatus for the measurement of combustion flue gas parameters - Guide to their use in the process of commissioning, servicing and maintaining gas fired appliances
This Technical Specification provides guidance on the selection, use and maintenance of portable electrical apparatus conforming to EN 50379-1 [4] and EN 50379-2 [5] or EN 50379-3 [6] to: a) measure combustion flue gas parameters of appliances in domestic premises burning 1st, 2nd or 3rd family gases of the following description: 1) Type A, Type B and Type C gas-fired appliances, except those appliances where the appliance instructions (or design, see 7.3.2.1), prohibit combustion sampling, and, 2) all gas-fired appliances for which the appliance manufacturer has provided a purpose-designed combustion sampling point or specific sampling instructions, b) use as a diagnostic instrument to assist an operative: 1) in confirming satisfactory combustion at the time of commissioning, in accordance with appliance instructions or national or local regulations or standards; 2) in confirming satisfactory combustion at the time of servicing in accordance with national or local regulations or standards or following servicing in accordance with appliance instructions; 3) in confirming satisfactory combustion following maintenance, in accordance with appliance instructions or national or local regulations or standards. NOTE 1 Type A, Type B and Type C classification of gas-fired appliances are defined in 3.1.2 and more fully in CEN/TR 1749 [2]. NOTE 2 Existing national or local regulations or standards conflicting with the guidance in this Technical Specification have precedence over this guidance. NOTE 3 It is not the intention of this Technical Specification to suggest that portable electrical combustion flue gas analysers are to be used as a substitute for normal service and maintenance carried out in accordance with the gas appliance instructions. Clause 9 describes how analysers can be used in conjunction with the appliance instructions. NOTE 4 EN 50379-)1 [4] specifies general requirements for the construction, testing and performance of portable spot reading apparatus designed to check the combustion performance of appliances in domestic premises using commercially available fuels. NOTE 5 EN 50379-2 [5] is for apparatus intended to be used for statutory measurements. In several European countries, legal requirements exist for the performance of heating appliances (see EN 50379-1:2012, informative Annex A [4]). Legal consequences resulting from performance measurements makes for strict requirements for the apparatus used (see EN 50379-1:2012, normative Annexes B and C [4]). NOTE 6 EN 50379-3 [6] is for apparatus intended to be used for non-statutory applications, which allows for reduced performance requirements for the portable electrical apparatus. NOTE 7 This Technical Specification deals with the determination of levels of combustion gases carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and/or oxygen (O2) in combustion products from gas-fired appliances. Combustion products from gas-fired appliances will contain nitrogen oxides (NOX), predominantly nitrogen monoxide (nitric oxide, NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). This Technical Specification does not deal with the measurement of combustion products such as NOX and aldehydes.
Tragbare elektrische Geräte zur Messung von Verbrennungsparametern - Leitfaden für den Einsatz für Inbetriebnahme, Wartung und Instandsetzung von gasbefeuerten Einrichtungen
Diese Technische Spezifikation bildet einen Leitfaden für Auswahl, Gebrauch und Instandhaltung von tragbaren elektrischen Geräten, die EN 50379 1 [4] und EN 50379 2 [5] oder EN 50379 3 [6] erfüllen: a) für die Messung von Verbrennungsparametern von Gas-Einrichtungen in Privathaushalten der Gase der 1., 2. oder 3. Familie mit der folgenden Beschreibung: 1) Gasbefeuerte Einrichtungen Typ A, Typ B und Typ C mit Ausnahme solcher Einrichtungen, bei denen die Betriebsanleitung der Einrichtung, (oder die Konstruktion, siehe 7.3.2.1), die Entnahme von Verbrennungsgas verbietet, und 2) Alle gasbefeuerten Einrichtungen, für die der Gasgerätehersteller eine Probenahmestelle für diesen Einsatzzweck bereitstellt oder spezifische Angaben zur Probenahme liefert, b) und als ein Diagnosewerkzeug, um den Handwerker zu unterstützen bei: 3) der Bestätigung einer zufriedenstellenden Verbrennung während der Inbetriebnahme in Übereinstim-mung mit der Betriebsanleitung der Einrichtung, nationalen oder örtlichen Regelwerken bzw. Normen 4) der Bestätigung einer zufriedenstellenden Verbrennung während der Wartung in Übereinstimmung mit nationalen oder örtlichen Regelwerken bzw. Normen oder Wartungsvorschrift in der Betriebsanleitung der Einrichtung 5) der Bestätigung einer zufriedenstellenden Verbrennung bei der Instandsetzung in Übereinstimmung mit der Betriebsanleitung der Einrichtung, nationalen oder örtlichen Regelwerken bzw. Normen ANMERKUNG 1 Die Einstufung von gasbefeuerten Einrichtungen in Typ A, Typ B und Typ C sind in 3.1.2 und ausführlicher in CEN/TR 1749 [2] beschrieben ANMERKUNG 2 Bestehende nationale oder örtliche Regelwerke bzw. Normen, die zu den Empfehlungen dieser Technischen Spezifikation im Widerspruch stehen, besitzen Vorrang gegenüber diesen Empfehlungen. ANMERKUNG 3 Es ist nicht die Absicht dieser Technischen Spezifikation, zu empfehlen, dass tragbare elektrische Geräte zur Messung von Verbrennungsparametern als Ersatz für normale Wartung und Instandsetzung gemäß der Betriebsanleitung für die Gas-Einrichtung eingesetzt werden. Abschnitt 9 beschreibt, wie die Messgeräte in Verbindung mit der Betriebsanleitung der Einrichtung benutzt werden können. ANMERKUNG 4 EN 50379 1 [4] beschreibt die allgemeinen Anforderungen für die Bauausführung, die Prüfung und das Betriebsverhalten von Geräten für Kurzzeitmessungen fest, um die Feuerungsleistung von Gas-Einrichtungen in privaten Haushalten zu beurteilen, die im Handel erhältliche Brennstoffe verfeuern. Da die Ergebnisse dieser Messungen gesetzlich festgelegte Maßnahmen zur Folge haben, gibt es strenge Anforderungen an die benutzten Geräte (siehe EN 50379 1:2012, normativen Anhänge B und C [4]). ANMERKUNG 6 EN 50379 3 [6] gilt für Geräte, die nicht für gesetzlich geregelte Anwendungen vorgesehen sind. Sie beinhaltet verminderte Anforderungen tragbare elektrische Geräte ANMERKUNG 7 Diese Technische Spezifikation behandelt die Bestimmung von Konzentrationen von den Verbrennungsgasen Kohlenmonoxid (CO), Kohlendioxid (CO2) und / oder Sauerstoff (O2) in Verbrennungsprodukten von gasbefeuerten Einrichtungen. Verbrennungsprodukte von gasbefeuerten Einrichtungen enthalten Stickoxide (NOx), überwiegend Stickstoffmonoxid (NO) und Stickstoffdioxid (NO2). Diese Technische Spezifikation behandelt nicht die Messung von Verbrennungsprodukten wie NOx und Aldehyden.

Prenosni električni aparati za meritve parametrov zgorevalnih dimnih plinov - Vodilo za njihovo uporabo pri izročanju v obratovanje, servisiranju in vzdrževanju plinskih kotlov
Ta tehnična specifikacija podaja vodilo glede izbire, uporabe in vzdrževanja prenosnih električnih aparatov v skladu s standardom EN 50379-1 [4] in standardom EN 50379-2 [5] ali EN 50379-3 [6] za:
a) meritve parametrov zgorevalnih dimnih plinov aparatov v stanovanjskih objektih pri zgorevanju plinov prve, druge in tretje družine z naslednjim opisom:
1) plinski kotli vrst A, B in C, razen tisti, za katere navodila za plinske kotle (ali zasnova, glej 7.3.2.1) prepovedujejo vzorčenje zgorevanja, ter
2) vsi plinski kotli, za katere proizvajalec posreduje namensko točko vzorčenja zgorevanja ali posebna navodila za vzorčenje,
b) uporabo kot diagnostični instrument za pomoč izvajalcu:
1) pri potrjevanju zadovoljivega zgorevanja v času izročanja v obratovanje v skladu z navodili za plinske kotle oziroma nacionalnimi ali lokalnimi predpisi oz. standardi;
2) pri potrjevanju zadovoljivega zgorevanja v času servisiranja v skladu z nacionalnimi ali lokalnimi predpisi oz. standardi ali po servisiranju v skladu z navodili za plinske kotle;
3) pri potrjevanju zadovoljivega zgorevanja po vzdrževanju v skladu z navodili za plinske kotle oziroma nacionalnimi ali lokalnimi predpisi oz. standardi.
OPOMBA 1: Razvrstitev plinskih kotlov v vrste A, B in C je opredeljena v točki 3.1.2 in podrobneje opisana v standardu CEN/TR 1749 [2].
OPOMBA 2: Obstoječi nacionalni ali lokalni predpisi oz. standardi, ki so v navzkrižju z vodilom v tej tehnični specifikaciji, imajo prednost pred njim.
OPOMBA 3: Namen te tehnične specifikacije ni predlagati, da se prenosni električni analizatorji zgorevalnih dimnih plinov uporabljajo kot nadomestek za običajno servisiranje in vzdrževanje, izvedeno v skladu z navodili za plinske kotle. Točka 9 opisuje način uporabe analizatorjev skupaj za navodili za plinske kotle.
OPOMBA 4: Standard EN 50379-1 [4] določa splošne zahteve za izdelavo, preskušanje in delovanje prenosnih odčitovalnih naprav za preverjanje učinkovitosti zgorevanja aparatov v stanovanjskih objektih z uporabo komercialno dostopnih goriv.
OPOMBA 5: Standard EN 50379-2 [5] zajema aparate, ki se uporabljajo za zakonsko določene meritve. V več evropskih državah obstajajo pravne zahteve za delovanje grelnih aparatov (glej standard EN 50379-1:2012, informativni dodatek A [4]). Pravne posledice, ki izhajajo iz merjenja delovanja, ustvarjajo stroge zahteve za aparat v uporabi (glej standard EN 50379-1:2012, normativna dodatka B in C [4]).

This document (CLC/TS 50612:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee CLC/TC 216 “Gas
detectors”.
This document supersedes CLC/TS 50612:2013.
The Scope of the 2013 guidance was limited to the use of portable electrical apparatus for the measurement
of combustion flue gas parameters of gas-fired central heating boilers. The Scope of the 2016 guidance has
been expanded to cover their use with gas-fired central heating boilers, domestic gas-fired air heaters,
independent gas-fired space heaters, gas cooking appliances and domestic gas-fired water heaters.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CENELEC [and/or CEN] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
The following Technical Committees have collaborated in the development of this document:

Introduction
This Technical Specification is intended as a guide for operatives who, in the course of their professional
activities, are required to measure combustion parameters of gas-fired appliances in domestic premises using
combustion flue gas analysers during any or all of the commissioning, servicing and maintenance of such
appliances.
It is intended to complement the following through a generic approach:
a) the gas appliance commissioning, servicing and maintenance instructions, and/or
b) national or local regulations or standards.
NOTE 1 A Technical Specification is announced and made available at national level, but conflicting national standards
can continue to exist.
NOTE 2 Existing national or local regulations or standards conflicting with the guidance in this Technical Specification
have precedence over this guidance.
It is not intended that a combustion gas analysis be used as a substitute for commissioning, servicing and/or
maintenance carried out in accordance with the gas appliance instructions. It is meant to be regarded and
used as a diagnostic tool to help in the process of carrying out these activities to ensure the safe and efficient
operation of the appliance installation.
In the preparation of this Technical Specification, it has been assumed that the execution of its provisions will
be entrusted to competent operatives (see Clause 4) for whose use it has been produced.
1 Scope
This Technical Specification provides guidance on the selection, use and maintenance of portable electrical
apparatus conforming to EN 50379-1 [4] and EN 50379-2 [5] or EN 50379-3 [6] to:
a) measure combustion flue gas parameters of appliances in domestic premises burning 1st, 2nd or 3rd
family gases of the following description:
1) Type A, Type B and Type C gas-fired appliances, except those appliances where the appliance
instructions (or design, see 7.3.2.1), prohibit combustion sampling, and,
