Paints and varnishes - Pull-off test for adhesion (ISO 4624:2023)

This document specifies three methods for determining the adhesion by carrying out a pull-off test on a single coating or a multi-coat system of paint, varnish or related product.
These methods include:
—    method A: using two dollies, suitable for testing both rigid and deformable substrates;
—    method B: testing from one side only, using a single dolly, suitable for rigid substrates only;
—    method C: using dollies, one as a painted substrate.
These test methods have been found useful in comparing the adhesion behaviour of different coatings. It is most useful in providing relative ratings for a series of coated panels exhibiting significant differences in adhesion.
The test can be applied using a wide range of substrates. Different procedures are given according to whether the substrate is deformable, e.g. thin metal, plastics and wood, or rigid, e.g. thick concrete and metal plates. To avoid distortion of the substrate during the tensile test, it is common to use a sandwich construction. For example, for special purposes, the coating can be applied directly to the face of a test dolly.

Beschichtungsstoffe - Abreißversuch zur Bestimmung der Haftfestigkeit (ISO 4624:2023)

Dieses Dokument legt drei Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Haftfestigkeit fest. Nach diesen Verfahren wird ein Abreißversuch an einer ein- oder mehrschichtigen Beschichtung durchgeführt.
Zu diesen Verfahren gehören:

VerfahrenA: Verwendung von zwei Prüfstempeln zum Prüfen sowohl auf starren als auch auf verformbaren Substraten;

VerfahrenB: Prüfen von nur einer Seite, mit einem Prüfstempel, das nur für starre Platten geeignet ist;

VerfahrenC: Verwendung von Prüfstempeln, von denen einer mit dem zu prüfenden Beschichtungsstoff beschichtet ist.
Diese Prüfverfahren wurden als nützlich befunden, um das Verhalten unterschiedlicher Beschichtungen hinsichtlich ihrer Haftfestigkeit zu vergleichen. Sie sind besonders nützlich, indem sie relative Bewertungen einer Reihe von beschichteten Probenplatten ermöglichen, die deutliche Unterschiede in der Haftfestigkeit der Beschichtungen zeigen.
Die Prüfung kann auf zahlreichen Substraten durchgeführt werden. Es wird unterschiedlich verfahren, je nach
dem, ob es sich um ein verformbares Substrat, z.B. dünnes Metall, Kunststoff und Holz, oder um ein starres
strat, z.B. dicke Beton- und Metallplatten, handelt. Um während der Haftfestigkeitsprüfung ein Verbiegen des Substrates zu verhindern, wird üblicherweise der Sandwich-Aufbau angewendet. Für spezielle Zwecke kann der Beschichtungsstoff z.B. auf einen Prüfstempel aufgetragen werden.

Peintures et vernis - Essai de traction (ISO 4624:2023)

Le présent document spécifie trois méthodes pour déterminer l'adhérence par un essai de traction sur une couche unique ou sur un système multicouche de peintures, vernis ou produits assimilés.
Ces méthodes incluent:
—    méthode A: utilisant deux plots et convenant aux essais pour les subjectiles rigides et les subjectiles déformables;
—    méthode B: essai sur une seule face, utilisant un plot, convenant uniquement aux subjectiles rigides;
—    méthode C: utilisant des plots, l'un étant utilisé comme subjectile peint.
Ces méthodes d'essai se sont révélées utiles pour comparer l'adhérence de diverses couches. Elles sont surtout utiles pour fournir des classifications relatives pour une série de panneaux revêtus présentant des différences d'adhérence significatives.
L'essai peut être effectué sur une large variété de subjectiles. Différents modes opératoires sont présentés selon que le subjectile est déformable, par exemple du métal fin, plastiques et bois, ou rigide, par exemple plaques de béton ou de métal épais. Pour éviter la déformation du subjectile durant l'essai de traction, il est courant d’utiliser un assemblage en sandwich. Par exemple, pour des besoins particuliers, le revêtement peut être appliqué directement sur un plot d'essai.

Barve in laki - Preskušanje oprijema z odtrganjem filma (ISO 4624:2023)

Standard ISO 4624:2016 določa tri metode (tj. en podpornik ali dva podpornika na barvani plošči in dva podpornika, pri čemer je eden barvana podlaga) za ugotavljanje oprijema z izvajanjem preskusa z odtrganjem filma na enopokrivnem ali večpokrivnem sistemu barve, laka ali sorodnega izdelka.
Te preskusne metode so se izkazale za uporabne pri primerjavi oprijema različnih premazov. Ta standard je predvsem uporaben za zagotavljanje relativnih vrednosti za serije premazanih plošč, ki se precej razlikujejo v oprijemu.
Preskus se lahko uporablja s številnimi podlagami. Podani so različni postopki glede na to, ali je podlaga upogljiva, npr. tanka kovina, polimeri in les, ali toga, npr. debel beton in kovinske plošče. Da med nateznim preskusom ne pride do popačenja podlage, se pogosto uporablja konstrukcija »sendvič«. Za posebne namene se lahko premaz na primer nanese neposredno na sprednjo stran podpornika.

This document (EN ISO 4624:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 "Paints and
varnishes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes” the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.

identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2023, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by December 2023.
