This European Standard applies to building elements permanently fixed to the load-bearing construction of pitched roofs, to stand or to walk on during inspection, maintenance and repair of facilities on the roof. It specifies essential dimensions, materials to be used, requirements with respect to the load-bearing capacity, and the extent of test. This standard does not apply to permanently fixed ladders on pitched roofs.

Diese Norm gilt nicht für fest auf geneigten Dachflächen angebrachte Leitern.

La présente norme définit les dimensions principales, les matériaux de construction à utiliser ainsi que les exigences concernant la limite de charge et l'étendue des essais. Cette norme ne s'applique pas aux échelles solidement montées sur des surfaces des toits en pente.
