This European Standard specifies safety and ergonomic requirements for wheelhouses and control positions on inland navigation vessels. This standard does not apply to craft which is subject to EU directive for pleasure craft. Likewise it does not apply to vessels below 20 m length unless they are passenger vessels, tugs or push boats.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die sicherheitstechnischen und ergonomischen Anforderungen für Steuerhäuser und Steuerstände auf Fahrzeuge der Binnenschiffahrt fest. Diese Norm gilt für Fahrzeuge, die unter die EU-Richtlinie über Spotboote fallen. Sie gilt ferner nicht für Fahrzeuge unter 20 m Länge, sofern es sich nicht um Fahrgastschiffe, Schlepp- und Schubboote handelt.

Elle ne s'applique pas non plus aux bateaux dont la longueur est < à 20 m à moins qu'il ne s'agisse pas de bateaux à passagers, remorqueurs ou pousseurs.
