This standard gives procedural instructions for approval testing of thermal sprayers. It defines essential requirements, ranges of approval, test conditions, acceptance requirements and certification for approval testing of thermal spray performance. During the approval test the thermal sprayer shall be required to show adequate practical experience and job knowledge of thermal spraying processes, materials and safety requirements for which he is to be approved; information on these aspects is given in Annex A.

Diese Norm beinhaltet Durchführungsanweisungen für die Prüfung von thermischen Spritzern. Definiert werden wesentliche Einflußgrößen, Zulassungsbereiche, Prüfbedingungen, Bewertungsbedingungen und die Bescheinigung der Leistung des thermischen Spritzers. Für die Prüfung wird der Nachweis gefordert, daß der thermische Spritzer über eine angemessene praktische Erfahrung und Fachkenntnisse hinsichtlich der Spritzprozesse, Werkstoffe und Sicherheitsanforderungen verfügt, für die er zugelassen werden soll. Hinweise hierzu sind in anhang A enthalten.

La présente norme donne les instructions de procédure relatives à la qualification des agents en projection thermique. Elle spécifie les exigences essentielles, les domaines de validité, les conditions de contrôle, les critères d'acceptation et de notification des résultats de l'épreuve de qualification de l'agent en projection thermique. Pendant l'épreuve de qualification, l'agent en projection thermique doit faire preuve de son expérience pratique et de sa compétence technologique portant sur les méthodes de projection thermique, les matériaux et règles de sécurité applicables à la qualification en cours.
