This document specifies safety and performance requirements and test methods for the design, assembly and testing of fully assembled bicycles and sub-assemblies for young children. It also provides guidelines for instructions on the use and care of the bicycles.
This document is applicable to bicycles with a maximum saddle height of more than 435 mm and less than 635 mm, propelled by a transmitted drive to the rear wheel.
It is not applicable to special bicycles intended for performing stunts (e.g. BMX bicycles).
NOTE For bicycles with a maximum saddle height of 435 mm or less, see national regulations for ride-on toys, and with a maximum saddle height of 635 mm or more, see ISO 4210-1 to ISO 4210-9.

Dieses Dokument legt sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Leistungsanforderungen sowie Prüfverfah¬ren hinsichtlich der konstruktiven Ausführung, Montage und Prüfung von vollständig zusammengebauten Kinderfahrrädern und deren Baugruppen fest. Gleichfalls wird eine Leitlinie für die Anleitungen zur Benut¬zung und Pflege der Fahrräder bereitgestellt.
Dieses Dokument ist anwendbar für Fahrräder, deren maximale Sattelhöhe mehr als 435 mm und weniger als 635 mm beträgt und die durch Kraftübertragung auf das Hinterrad angetrieben werden.
Dieses Dokument ist anwendbar nicht für spezielle Fahrräder, die für Trickfahrten bestimmt sind (z. B. BMX Fahrräder).
ANMERKUNG Bei Fahrrädern mit einer maximalen Sattelhöhe von 435 mm oder weniger siehe die nationalen Vorschriften für Fahrspielzeuge und bei Fahrrädern mit einer maximalen Sattelhöhe von 635 mm oder mehr siehe ISO 4210 1 bis ISO 4210 9 [5] bis [13].

Le présent document spécifie les méthodes d'essai et les exigences de sécurité et de performance à observer lors de la conception, de l’assemblage et des essais des bicyclettes pour jeunes enfants et de leurs sous-ensembles, et précise les lignes directrices concernant l'utilisation et l'entretien de celles-ci.
Le présent document est applicable aux bicyclettes qui ont une hauteur maximale de selle comprise entre 435 mm et 635 mm et qui sont propulsées par une force transmise à la roue arrière.
La présente norme ne s'applique pas aux bicyclettes spéciales prévues pour effectuer des acrobaties (p. ex., les bicyclettes BMX).

Ta dokument določa varnostne in tehnične zahteve ter preskusne metode za zasnovo, sestavo in preskušanje sestavljenih koles in njihovih podsestavov za mlajše otroke. Podaja tudi smernice za navodila za uporabo in nego koles.
Ta dokument se uporablja za kolesa z maksimalno višino sedeža najmanj 435 mm in največ 635 mm ter z verižnim prenosom vrtenja na zadnje kolo.
Ne velja za posebna kolesa, namenjena za izvajanje trikov (npr. kolesa BMX).
OPOMBA: Za kolesa z maksimalno višino sedeža 435 mm ali manj glej nacionalne predpise za otroška igralna vozila, za kolesa z maksimalno višino sedeža največ 635 mm pa glej standarde od ISO 4210-1 do ISO 4210-9.

This document (EN ISO 8098:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 149 "Cycles" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 333 “Cycles” the secretariat of which is held by UNI.

identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2023, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by July 2023.
