This European Standard specifies a normalized railway noise spectrum for the evaluation and assessment of the acoustic performance of devices designed to reduce airborne railway noise near railways.
All noise reducing devices different from noise barriers and related devices acting on airborne sound propagation, e.g. devices for attenuation of ground borne vibration and on board devices, are out of the scope of this European Standard.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein standardisiertes Schienenverkehrslärmspektrum zur Ermittlung und Bewer-tung der akustischen Eigenschaften von Vorrichtungen zur Minderung des Luftschalls von Eisenbahnen an Bahnstrecken fest.
Alle Lärmminderungsvorrichtungen, die nicht zu Lärmschutzwänden und verwandten Vorrichtungen zur Be-einflussung der Luftschallausbreitung gehören, z. B. Vorrichtungen zur Verminderung von Erdbodenerschütte-rungen oder mittransportierte Vorrichtungen, gehören nicht zum Anwendungsbereich dieser Europäischen Norm.

La présente Norme européenne définit un spectre de bruit ferroviaire normalisé pour l'évaluation et la détermination des performances acoustiques de dispositifs conçus pour réduire le bruit ferroviaire aérien à proximité des voies ferrées.
Tous les dispositifs de réduction du bruit, autres que les écrans antibruits et dispositifs apparentés agissant sur la propagation du bruit aérien, comme par exemple les dispositifs d'atténuation des vibrations transmises par le sol et les dispositifs embarqués, ne relèvent pas du domaine d'application de la présente Norme européenne.

Standard EN 16272-3-2 določa normalizirani spekter železniškega hrupa za vrednotenje in oceno akustičnih lastnosti naprav, namenjenih zmanjševanju železniškega hrupa po zraku v bližini železniških prog. Vse protihrupne naprave, ki ne spadajo med protihrupne ovire in pripadajoče naprave, ki vplivajo na širjenje zvoka po zraku, npr. naprave za zmanjšanje talnih vibracij in naprave v vozilih, niso zajete v tem evropskem standardu.

3 Foreword This document (EN 16272-3-2:2014) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 256 “Railway applications”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2015 and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by January 2015. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. 5 1 Scope This European Standard specifies a normalized railway noise spectrum for the evaluation and assessment of the acoustic performance of devices designed to reduce airborne railway noise near railways.
