This European Standard is one in a series of Standards for the determination of heavy metals in an aqueous extract of paper or board intended for contact with food. This European Standard specifies the test method for the determination of cadmium and lead in an aqueous extract.
It is applicable to paper and paperboard with extractable metal contents exceeding
- 0,1 mg per kg for cadmium;
- 0,6 mg per kg for lead.
NOTE 1 The above limits of determination are achieved by multiplying the actual limits existing today or proposed in Europe by 0,2.
NOTE 2 Metal content levels below those given can be measured by this European Standard if very sensitive equipment is available and if all other laboratory conditions fulfil the requirements for trace element analysis.

Diese Europäische Norm ist Bestandteil einer Reihe von Normen, die die Bestimmung von Schwermetallen in

Europäische Norm legt ein Prüfverfahren zur quantitativen Bestimmung von Cadmium und Blei in einem
wässrigen Extrakt fest.
Sie ist anwendbar auf Papier, Karton und Pappe mit extrahierbaren Metallgehalten, die folgende Werte
überschreiten: .
0,1 mg je kg bei Cadmium;
.0,6 mg je kg bei Blei;
ANMERKUNG 1 Die oben genannten Bestimmungsgrenzen sind durch Multiplikation der heute existierenden Grenzwerte
oder durch die in Europa vorgeschlagenen 0,2 erreichbar.
ANMERKUNG 2 Metallgehalte, die unterhalb der oben Genannten liegen, können mit dieser Europäischen Norm
gemessen werden, wenn eine sehr empfindliche Laborausstattung vorhanden ist. Ferner müssen für die
Spurenelementanalyse alle Anforderungen an die Laborbedingungen erfüllt sein.

La présente Norme européenne fait partie d'une série de normes pour la détermination des métaux lourds
dans un extrait aqueux de papier ou de carton destiné à entrer en contact avec les denrées alimentaires. La
présente norme européenne prescrit la méthode d'essai pour le dosage du cadmium et du plomb dans un
extrait aqueux.
Elle est applicable aux papiers et cartons avec des teneurs en métaux lourds extractibles dépassant :
.0,1 mg/kg pour le cadmium ;
.0,6 mg/kg pour le plomb.
NOTE 1 On a obtenu les limites de déterminations indiquées ci-dessus en multipliant les limites réelles existant
actuellement ou proposées en Europe par 0,2.
NOTE 2 On peut mesurer des teneurs en métaux inférieures aux valeurs indiquées ci-dessus suivant cette norme
européenne si l'on dispose d'un appareillage très sensible et si les autres conditions dans le laboratoire satisfont aux
exigences de l'analyse des éléments à l'état de traces.
