This document specifies requirements and recommendations for the design of permanent booths for simultaneous interpreting in new or existing buildings. This document also ensures the usability and accessibility of booths for all interpreters.
This document is to be used in conjunction with ISO 20109, which contains requirements and recommendations for the equipment necessary for simultaneous interpreting. For requirements and recommendations for permanent booths which do not have a direct view of the room in which a communicative event takes place, see ISO 17651-3.[1]

Dieses Dokument ist zur Verwendung in Verbindung mit ISO20109 vorgesehen, die Anforderungen an und Empfehlungen für die Ausrüstungen, die für Simultandolmetschen erforderlich sind, enthält. Anforderungen an und Empfehlungen für ortsfeste Kabinen ohne direkte Sicht auf den Raum, in dem das kommunikatives Ereignis stattfindet, sind in ISO17651-3

Le présent document spécifie les exigences et recommandations relatives à la conception de cabines permanentes d’interprétation simultanée dans des bâtiments neufs ou existants. Ce document garantit également la facilité d’utilisation et l’accessibilité des cabines pour tous les interprètes.
Le présent document est destiné à être utilisé conjointement avec l’ISO 20109, qui contient les exigences et recommandations relatives à l’équipement nécessaire pour l’interprétation simultanée. Pour les exigences et recommandations relatives aux cabines permanentes qui n’ont pas une vue directe sur la salle dans laquelle a lieu l’événement de communication, voir l’ISO 17651-3[1].

Standard ISO 2603:2016 določa zahteve in priporočila za gradnjo ter prenovo vgrajenih kabin za simultano tolmačenje v novih in obstoječih stavbah. Ta dokument zagotavlja tudi uporabnost in dostopnost kabin za tolmače, vključno s tistimi s posebnimi potrebami.
Uporablja se za vse vrste vgrajenih kabin z vgrajeno ali prenosno opremo.
V povezavi s tem dokumentom ali standardom ISO 4043 standarda ISO 20108 in ISO 20109 določata ustrezne zahteve glede kakovosti ter prenosa zvoka in slike, ki se zagotavljata za tolmače, in potrebne opreme v kabinah.

This document (EN ISO 17651-1:2024) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 37
"Language and terminology" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/SS A07 “Translation and
Interpretation services” the secretariat of which is held by CCMC.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2024, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by July 2024.
