IEC TR 60878:2015 provides a comprehensive compilation, for easy reference, of graphical symbols (graphics, title, description) and safety signs for medical electrical equipment. The graphical symbols are grouped in sections according to their specific field of application. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2003. This third edition constitutes a technical revision.

IEC 62648:2012 provides guidelines to ensure that graphical symbols for use on equipment in IEC product publications are consistent with the requirements of horizontal standard IEC 60417, and ISO 7000. This document is intended to be used by any technical committees and subcommittees to develop graphical symbols for use on equipment for inclusion in their product publications. It has the status of a horizontal standard in accordance with IEC Guide 108.

IEC/TR 62711:2011(E) provides recommendations for consistent use of mnemonics and qualifying symbols to be applied to symbols representing devices used in systems for monitoring, protection, switching, and controlling of apparatus in electrical substations, generating stations, power utilization and conversion facilities, and equipment designed for automatic protection of power systems. The recommendations are intended for designers, manufacturers and engineers of such systems.

This International Standard establishes general principles for the identification of terminals of objects within a system, applicable to all technical areas (for example mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction engineering, process engineering). They can be used for systems based on different technologies or for systems combining several technologies. Requirements for marking of terminal designations on products are not part of this publication.

This part of IEC 62053 applies to letter and graphical symbols intended for marking on and identifying the function of electromechanical or static a.c. electricity meters and their auxiliary devices.
