Household and similar electrical appliances - Test code for the determination of airborne noise - Part 1: General requirements
This part of IEC 60704 applies to electric appliances (including their accessories or components) for household and similar use, supplied from mains or from batteries. By similar use is understood the use in similar conditions as in households, for example in inns, coffee-houses, tea-rooms, hotels, barber or hairdresser shops, launderettes, etc., if not otherwise specified in part 2. This standard does not apply to - appliances, equipment or machines designed exclusively for industrial or professional purposes; - appliances which are integrated parts of a building or its installations, such as equipment for air conditioning, heating and ventilating (except household fans, cooker hoods and free standing heating appliances), oil burners for central heating, pumps for water supply and for sewage systems; - separate motors or generators; - appliances for outdoor use.

Ta del IEC 60704 se uporablja za električne aparate (vključno z njihovim priborom ali sestavnimi deli) za uporabo v gospodinjstvu in za podobno uporabo, ki se napajajo iz glavnega električnega omrežja ali iz baterij. S podobno uporabo je mišljena uporaba v podobnih pogojih kot v gospodinjstvih, na primer v gostiščih, kavarnah, čajnicah, hotelih, brivskih ali frizerskih lokalih, pralnicah ipd., če ni drugače navedeno v 2. delu. Ta standard se ne uporablja za – naprave, opremo ali stroje, zasnovane izključno za industrijske ali profesionalne namene; - naprave, ki so sestavni deli zgradbe ali njenih napeljav, kot je oprema za klimatizacijo, ogrevanje in prezračevanje (razen ventilatorjev za uporabo v gospodinjstvu, kuhinjskih nap in prosto stoječih grelnih teles), oljne gorilnike za centralno ogrevanje, črpalke za oskrbo z vodo in za kanalizacijske sisteme; - posamezne motorje ali generatorje; - naprave za zunanjo uporabo.

This amendment A11 modifies the European Standard EN 60704-1:2010; it was approved by CENELEC on
2012-10-15. CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which
stipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the status of a national standard without any alteration.
Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such national standards may be obtained on
application to the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre or to any CENELEC member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language
made by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to the
CEN-CENELEC Management Centre has the same status as the official versions.
