IEC 60947-5-1:2024 applies to control circuit devices and switching elements intended for controlling, signalling, interlocking, etc., of switchgear and controlgear.
It applies to control circuit devices having a rated voltage not exceeding 1 000 V AC (at a frequency not exceeding 1 000 Hz) or 600 V DC.
This fifth edition cancels and replaces the fourth edition published in 2016. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) update of the scope structure and exclusions;
b) requirements for control circuits;
c) update of the normal service conditions (e.g. shock and vibration);
d) update of information and marking requirements including environmental information requirements referencing IEC TS 63058:2021;
e) update of the constructional requirements and the corresponding tests considering safety aspects (e.g. artificial optical radiation, security aspects, limited energy source, stored charge energy circuit);
f) update of the EMC requirements according to the generic documents;
g) new requirements for reed contact magnetic switches in Annex D;
h) requirements for class II circuit devices achieved by double or reinforced insulation in Annex F;
i) update of pull-out tests in Annex G;
j) information requirements for audible signalling device in Annex J;
k) insertion of new Annex O.

L'IEC 60947-5-1:2024 s'applique aux appareils pour circuits de commande et aux éléments de commutation destinés à la commande, à la signalisation, au verrouillage, etc., de l'appareillage.
Elle s'applique aux appareils pour circuits de commande dont la tension assignée ne dépasse pas 1 000 V en courant alternatif (à une fréquence qui ne dépasse pas 1 000 Hz) ou 600 V en courant continu.
Cette cinquième édition annule et remplace la quatrième édition parue en 2016. Cette édition constitue une révision technique.

f) mise à jour des exigences de CEM conformément aux documents génériques;
g) nouvelles exigences pour les interrupteurs magnétiques à lames souples à l'Annexe D;
h) exigences relatives aux appareils de classe II pour circuits respectées par une double isolation ou une isolation renforcée à l'Annexe F;
i) mise à jour des essais de traction à l'Annexe G;
j) exigences relatives aux informations concernant les dispositifs de signalisation sonore à l'Annexe J;
k) insertion d'une nouvelle Annexe O.

objectives of Directive 2014/35/EU [2014 OJ L96] aimed to be

This European standard has been prepared under a Commission’s standardisation request relating to
harmonised standards in the field of the Low Voltage Directive, M/511, to provide one voluntary means
of conforming to safety objectives of Directive 2014/35/EU of the European Parliament and of the
Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the
making available on the market of electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits
[2014 OJ L96].
Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union under that Directive,
compliance with the normative clauses of this standard given in Table ZZ.1 confers, within the limits of
the scope of this standard, a presumption of conformity with the corresponding safety objectives of
that Directive, and associated EFTA regulations.

Die Überarbeitung der konstruktiven Anforderungen und der entsprechenden Sicherheitsprüfungen ist ein weiterer wesentlicher Vorteil dieser Norm, da sie dabei hilft, mögliche Gefahrenquellen zu identifizieren und zu eliminieren. Außerdem werden die Elektromagnetischen Verträglichkeitsanforderungen (EMV) gemäß den generischen Dokumenten aktualisiert, was für die Herstelle von entscheidender Bedeutung ist, um die Interferenz mit anderen Geräten zu minimieren. Ein zusätzlicher Gewinn ist die Möglichkeit, Geräte der Klasse II durch doppelte oder verstärkte Isolierung, wie in Anhang F gefordert, zu gewährleisten und die Einführung neuer Anforderungen für akustische Signalgeräte in Anhang J. Des Weiteren wurden die Anforderungen für Auszugsprüfungen in Anhang G aktualisiert, was die praktische Anwendung und Sicherheit der Geräte weiter verbessert.
