IEC 60947-5-3:2013 series provides additional requirements to those given in IEC 60947-5-2. It addresses the fault performance aspects of proximity devices with a defined behaviour under fault conditions (PDDB). It does not address any other characteristics that can be required for specific applications. This second edition replaces the first edition published in 1999 and its amendment published in 2005. It is a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) general principles of IEC 61508 series; b) classification according to the requirements of IEC 62061; c) classification according to ISO 13849-1.

La CEI 60947-5-3:2013 fournit des exigences supplémentaires à celles énoncées dans la CEI 60947-5-2. Elle couvre les aspects de défaut des dispositifs de détection de proximité à comportement défini (PDDB) dans les conditions de défaut. Elle ne couvre aucune autre fonctionnalité qui peut être requise pour des applications spécifiques. Cette deuxième édition remplace la première édition publiée en 1999 et son amendement publié en 2005. Il s'agit d'une révision technique. Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l'édition précédente: a) principes généraux de la série CEI 61508; b) classification selon les exigences de la CEI 62061; c) classification selon l'ISO 13849-1.

Ta del skupine standardov IEC 60947 zagotavlja dodatne zahteve poleg zahtev iz standarda IEC 60947-5-2. Obravnava vidike v zvezi z okvarami približevalnih naprav z določenim obnašanjem ob okvarnih razmerah (PDDB). Ne obravnava nobenih drugih značilnosti, ki so lahko zahtevane za posebne uporabe. Ta standard ne zajema približevalnih naprav z analognim izhodom. Ta standard ne obravnava posebnih zahtev za akustični šum, saj se emisije hrupa krmilnih naprav in stikalnih elementov ne štejejo za ustrezno tveganje. Za približevalne naprave z določenim obnašanjem, ki se uporabljajo v okviru uporab, pri katerih se zahtevajo dodatne značilnosti, obravnavane v drugih standardih, se uporabljajo zahteve vseh ustreznih standardov. Uporaba izključno tega standarda ne dokazuje primernosti za izvajanje katere koli posebne funkcije, povezane z varnostjo. Ta standard ne zagotavlja zahtev za značilnosti proženja približevalne naprave z določenim obnašanjem ali za način za zmanjšanje učinkov vzajemnih motenj med napravami, npr. kodirani cilji. Zato je treba poleg zahtev tega standarda upoštevati tudi te zahteve in vse druge zahteve, specifične za uporabe.

voltage switchgear and controlgear" of IEC/TC 17 "Switchgear and controlgear" was submitted to the
IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and approved by CENELEC as EN 60947-5-3:2013.
The following dates are fixed:
– latest date by which the document has to be implemented at (dop) 2014-06-10
national level by publication of an identical national
standard or by endorsement
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting with (dow) 2016-09-10
the document have to be withdrawn
This document supersedes EN 60947-5-3:1999.
EN 60947-5-3:2013 includes the following significant technical changes with respect to
