Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-105: Particular requirements for multifunctional shower cabinets

IEC 60335-2-105:2016 deals with the safety of electric multifunctional shower cabinets and electric separate multifunctional shower units for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. Appliances not intended for normal household use but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in hotels, fitness centres and similar locations, are within the scope of this standard. This standard deals with the reasonably foreseeable hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons. However, in general, it does not take into account persons (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction; children playing with the appliance. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2004 including its Amendment 1 (2008) and its Amendment 2 (2013). It constitutes a technical revision. The principal changes in this edition as compared with the first edition of IEC 60335-2-105 are as follows: - revised the application of a live part (8.1.4); - aligned the temperature rise limits of surfaces likely to be in contact with the skin with IEC Guide 117 for a contact time of one minute (Table 3). This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 60335-1:2010. It was established on the basis of the fifth edition (2010) of that standard. The attention of National Committees is drawn to the fact that equipment manufacturers and testing organizations may need a transitional period following publication of a new, amended or revised IEC publication in which to make products in accordance with the new requirements and to equip themselves for conducting new or revised tests. It is the recommendation of the committee that the content of this publication be adopted for implementation nationally not earlier than 12 months or later than 36 months from the date of its publication. Key words: Shower, Shower cabinets, Multifunctional

pomanjkanja izkušenj in znanja
ne morejo varno uporabljati aparata brez nadzora ali navodil;
– otrok, ki se igrajo z aparatom.
OPOMBA 101: Opozoriti je treba, da:
– so za aparate, ki so namenjeni za uporabo v vozilih ali na krovu ladij ali letal, morda potrebne dodatne zahteve;
– v številnih državah nacionalni zdravstveni organi, nacionalni organi za oskrbo z vodo, nacionalni organi, odgovorni za varstvo pri delu, ter drugi podobni organi določajo dodatne zahteve;
– pretočne grelnike vode za uporabo pri prhanju (IEC 60335-2-35);
– črpalke za prhanje (IEC 60335-2-41);
– aparate za medicinske namene;

FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote
international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To
this end and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications,
Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC
Publication(s)”). Their preparation is entrusted to technical committees; any IEC National Committee interested
in the subject dealt with may participate in this preparatory work. International, governmental and non-
governmental organizations liaising with the IEC also participate in this preparation. IEC collaborates closely
with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in accordance with conditions determined by
agreement between the two organizations.
2) The formal decisions or agreements of IEC on technical matters express, as nearly as possible, an international
consensus of opinion on the relevant subjects since each technical committee has representation from all
interested IEC National Committees.
3) IEC Publications have the form of recommendations for international use and are accepted by IEC National
Committees in that sense. While all reasonable efforts are made to ensure that the technical content of IEC
Publications is accurate, IEC cannot be held responsible for the way in which they are used or for any
misinterpretation by any end user.
4) In order to promote international uniformity, IEC National Committees undertake to apply IEC Publications
transparently to the maximum extent possible in their national and regional publications. Any divergence
between any IEC Publication and the corresponding national or regional publication shall be clearly indicated in
the latter.
5) IEC itself does not provide any attestation of conformity. Independent certification bodies provide conformity
assessment services and, in some areas, access to IEC marks of conformity. IEC is not responsible for any
services carried out by independent certification bodies.
6) All users should ensure that they have the latest edition of this publication.
7) No liability shall attach to IEC or its directors, employees, servants or agents including individual experts and
members of its technical committees and IEC National Committees for any personal injury, property damage or
other damage of any nature whatsoever, whether direct or indirect, or for costs (including legal fees) and
expenses arising out of the publication, use of, or reliance upon, this IEC Publication or any other IEC
Publications.
