Dieser Anhang beinhaltet zusätzliche Anforderungen und Prüfmethoden für die Sicherheit von dekorativen Gasgeräten mit Brennstoffeffekt mit einer Nennwärmebelastung bis 20 kW und einer thermischen Abgasüberwachungseinrichtung, die im weiteren als Gerät bezeichnet werden. Die Einrichtung ist vom Hersteller an einem feststehenden Rahmen, der integrierter Bestandteil des Gerätes ist, montiert. Der Rahmen umschließt den offenen Kamin, so dass die Verbindung zwischen dem Gerät und dem Feuerbett fixiert ist.
ANMERKUNG Die Nummerierung dieses Anhangs entspricht dem Nummerierungsformat in der Rumpfnorm mit dem Zusatz J. Zum Beispiel hängt J.6.1.8.3 mit 6.1.8.3 zusammen.
Dieser Anhang gilt für Geräte der Art BBS, die ausschließlich dekorativen Zwecken dienen. Diese Geräte sind keine Heizgeräte.

This amendment A2 modifies the European Standard EN 509:1999; it was approved by CEN on 4 November 2004.

Foreword
This document (EN 509:1999/A2:2004) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN /TC 62
"Independent gas-fired space heaters", the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This Amendment to the European Standard EN 509:1999 shall be given the status of a national
standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2005, and
conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June 2005.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the
following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech
Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy,
Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia,
Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
1 CLAUSE 1 SCOPE

'Additional requirements for decorative fuel effect gas appliances not exceeding a net heat
input of 20 kW fitted with a combustion products discharge safety device without a canopy
'J.1 Scope
'This Annex specifies the additional requirements and test methods for the safety of decorative fuel
effect gas appliances not exceeding a net heat input of 20 kW fitted with a combustion products
discharge safety device, hereafter referred to as appliances. This device is mounted by the
manufacturer on a fixed frame and is an integral part of the appliance. The frame is fitted around the
fireplace opening so that the relationship between the device and the fire bed is fixed.
NOTE The Clause numbering in this Annex follows the Clause numbering format used in the main body of
the document, with the addition of the prefix J. For example J.5.2.10 corresponds to 5.2.10.
'This Annex applies to Type B appliances which are for decorative purposes only. They are not
