Overview

EN 14188-2:2004 - published by CEN - defines specifications for cold applied joint sealants used in concrete pavements. The standard classifies sealants by system (single- or multi-component), type (self‑levelling or non‑sag) and chemical resistance (Classes A–D). It sets performance requirements, required test methods and a conformity evaluation framework (Initial Type Testing, Factory Production Control and third‑party surveillance). Typical applications include roads, parking decks, bridge decks, airfields and other trafficked areas (excludes use in gasoline stations, jet‑fuel refuelling points and the chemical industry).
