Ta evropski standard označuje zahteve za obliko in izbiro nizke napetosti elektrotehnične opreme za vse vrste žerjavov, s stvarnim zagotavljanjem zanesljivosti varnostno povezane funkcije in zaščito osebja pred tveganjem, ki vpliva na njegovo zdravje in varnost. Oprema, zajeta v ta evropskega standard, obsega vse od povezave oskrbe do električne opreme žerjava, vključno s sistemi za napajanje s tokom in dovodi, nameščenimi na zunanji strani žerjava, npr. zvijavi kabli, prevodne žice ali zbiralke, krmilnih kablov.
